<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">VINCE CARTER held a conference call late last night after he had been traded from the Raptors to the New Jersey Nets. Here's some of what Carter had to say:

    - On how he learned about the trade: "I actually was asleep. Everybody was calling me. I was like, 'What do you want?' They said, 'You've been traded.' I said, 'Don't joke like that.' It's just starting to sink in right now."

    - On his time in Toronto: "It's nothing like bad blood. It was more of a business decision. I love Toronto and everything it had to offer. The organization was good to me and helped me grow and make a name for myself. I have no reason to talk bad about them because I wouldn't be where I am without that opportunity. Where it went wrong? I don't know. I guess it got to where it was time to move on."

    - On his Achilles injury: "I just (yesterday) started doing light running and going through light drills. It's nothing major. I don't know what they really call it -- it's not torn that badly. I am hoping (to be back playing) in at least the next couple of games. I am definitely going to take my time. Achilles injuries are not something you want to look over, especially when I have to fill the lanes and run with a guy like Jason Kidd."

    - On dunking: "It was one of those things, a guy was giving me a hard time, and I said, 'Aw, I don't dunk anymore.' It was blown out of context. After that I had eight or nine dunks in three games. I definitely plan on it. I have no choice now."

    - On how good the Nets can be: "On paper, just with the big three, myself, J-Kidd and Richard (Jefferson), (we are) going to be tough." </div>

He sounds like hes gonna be back. NBA TV says the Carter of 4 years ago will be back. Take it for what you want.

Nice to see he has some of his swagger back. Hopefully when he plays in Jersey, he stats that stupid headband off. Everytime I see him play in that it keeps reminding me of the years where Vince was hated and bashed. Take your headband off and play like the Vince of old. Yes yes, I know the headband has nothing to do with how he plays but it's just a personal thing. Everytime I see him in a headband I get reminded of us not being in the playoffs and Carter's career fall over the last 3 years.

i know that the nets have a good backcourt now...but i'm not sure how this move helps carter...yes they can score, but there defence is suspect...

also, the run and gun style has already be implemented here in T.O., so unless carter will play like he did in the first two seasons, it's pretty much the same situation as he had here...

by no means am i saying that rafer and kidd are in the same league in terms of stature, but lets face it, kidd isn't the healthest right now, and i still have a feeling that he wants out of jersey, as they are not a contender right now (unless they deal for some front court help)...

maybe they'll be interested in our williams front court... [IMG]
