This Sonics did just that in the game against the Suns. In one of thier final posessions they moved the ball back and forth around the the 3 pt line looking for the 3 when they really didnt need it. They had been doing pretty good going to the paint all night yet they choose to let thier "we are the invincible 3 pt shooting team" mentality cloud thier decision making at a crucial point in the game. They are a great 3 pt shooting team, but they need to recognize when the higher percentage shot is the best choice.
Please. They missed the layup and didn't have a go-to play after, and they got a wide open three-pointer out of it, anyway. If Ridnour had made the shot, everybody would be praising their ball movement. I've heard enough of people other than Sonics fans saying they always lose because they shoot threes only. That was last year. If you're going to judge our team, at least come up with something based on our current play.
Even when Casanova develops into the 45ppg scorer we're expecting, we'll still be accused of living and dying by the three. So we shoot it well generally, sue us.
Speaking of 3's. Whats up with Ray Allen's 3 point shooting? For his first 10 games he was shooting around 50% (which is ridiculously good) but the past 10-12 games he has been awful beyond the arc.......is his ankle still bothering him?
