<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The Phoenix Suns activated forward/center Jackson Vroman today and in doing so, waived guard Yuta Tabuse (pronounced you-TA ta-BOO-say). The Suns roster now stands at 13 players.

Tabuse averaged 1.8 points, 1.0 rebounds and 0.8 assists in 4.3 minutes in four games this season. The 5-9, 165-pound guard made NBA history on November 3 in the season opener vs. the Hawks by becoming the first Japanese-born player to appear in an NBA game when he scored seven points in 10 minutes played. Tabuse, who missed 16 games due to a right quadriceps strain, was activated off the injured list on December 10. </div>

im honestly not suprised. yuta tabuse wasnt really nba-ready to start with, and he was very likely used as a way to promote the NBA and Suns to Japan. his game wasnt ready for the game, and when u have a ineffective person eating your cap space, it would be long before u are shown the door. by activating Vroman, the suns are considering solidifying the center position, since by the season's end, the suns will prolly move amare to PF to adjust to the more gruelling playoff style.

anyway, great that Tabuse was able to break into the nba. seeing an asian player in the nba is a rare sight and its good to see the game become more global. hopefully, he will work on his skills and come back in a few years

I thought I heard somewhere Yuta was going to be a project-like player.

Well anyway, I`m glad we had a first something player on are team. It`s ashame to see him go but like it was stated before, he never played much.

The article says they waived him, to give him the opportunity to play for another team and get good playing time.

Those stats are pretty good in my opinion for 4.3 minutes.
I hope another team signs him. He can be the answer to Boykins.

Boykins is tough and strong, he's scarier than Ben Wallace at gym. Yuta may be ready mentally but from physical standpoint he's gotta bulk up more.

Yes, I heard that Boykins can bench like a beast in the gym... Seems so weird looking at how small he is, it doesn't even look like he works out.

Yuta, I think should still be given a chance. Although he needs to hit the gym 24/7, and try to use his height to his advantage??? Only time will tell...

not trying to be a wet blanket, but rockets already are overstacked at point guard with bob sura, charlie ward, and tyrone lue. what houston needs now is a good post defensive presence, their 4 spot is weak defensively

This is the short article on Boykins

    http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2004/play...ives/index.html

He can bench 315 pounds! I have no idea how tough it is but it sure doesn't sound like an easy task.

Back to Yuta, I agree with this guy

    http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news;_ylc=X3oD...cnnsi&type=lgns

that his signing has been a marketing move all along. The Suns may have gotten millions from merchandise sales alone.

I hope somebody signs Yuta, I don't care even if it is to improve ticket sales, I just would like to see him get another chance to play in the NBA. He wasn't doing that bad for just 4 minutes of work every night. I hope that someday if he works hard enough that we will see him in that backup point guard role for some team.

    disappointed...

It was just an unfortunate situation for him in Phoenix, they've got the best point guard already and they needed a big man. But I think also because it's their best chance to win the Championship this year, so they need to WIN. Not that Tabuse will make them a worse team, but they certainly aren't gonna let him play come playoffs.

I hope Tabuse goes to Eastern conference team like Charlotte, he'll get the best opportunity in the East.

He was like the NBA equivalent of American Idol's Willium Hung.
IF he's actually got skills I hope he gets on a team that actually needs him.
