Wizards (13-9) @ Warriors (7-17)

Warriors Keys To Winning:

To win this game the Warriors will have to stop Larry Hughes, Antwan Jamison, and Gilbert Arenas. Jason Richardson will have to be quick and strong against Larry Hughes and stop him on defense. Speedy Claxton needs to keep the ball away from Gilbert Arenas and lead fast breaks and get fouled which will frustrate Arenas. Troy Murphy needs to come up big with another double ? double. Mike Dunleavy needs to stay hot tonight against Antwan Jamison. And go undefeated in the retro jerseys.

Warriors Key Bench Players:
Mickael Pietrus will have to come up big tonight off the bench. He will probably come in and guard Antwan Jamison and hopefully he can stop Jamison. Luis Flores has been getting in some minutes off the bench in his first season and hopefully can score and breakout against the Wizards tonight.

Starting Lineups:

Warriors Wizards

PG: Speedy Claxton vs. PG: Gilbert Arenas:

Even: Arenas can score more, but Speedy can get fouled and Arenas fouls a lot and probably be in foul trouble by the end of the 2nd quarter.

SG: Jason Richardson vs. SG: Larry Hughes:

Warriors: J-Rich is stronger and quicker then Hughes and will be able to get ahead in the fast breaks.

SF: Mike Dunleavy vs. SF: Antwan Jamison:

Wizards: Jamison is more experienced and will make it hard for Dunleavy guard him.

PF: Troy Murphy vs. PF: Jared Jeffries:

Warriors. Troy Murphy can rebound and score and is a walking double - double.

C: Cliff Robinson vs. C: Brendan Haywood
Warriors. Cliff has been hot lately and is bound to cause some trouble for Haywood.

Wizards Keys To Winning:

Let Jamison, Hughes, and Arenas take control of the team and score early. If the Warriors have any half collapses, take advantage of it. Also let Anthony Peeler and Kwame Brown get some points off the bench. Jamison will probably have a good night against Mike Dunleavy who hasn?t been living up to many people?s expectations.

Wizards Key Bench Players:

Anthony Peeler and his red-hot three pointers will provide the Wizards some points off the bench. Kwame Brown and Brendan Haywood will probably share time tonight and perhaps can cause some trouble for the Warriors centers.

Player Of The Game:

Troy Murphy. 23 points, 15 rebounds, and 3 assists.
Prediction:

Warriors by 2. 103 to 101

Wizards 101 - Warriors 95

I think the Wizards should be able to take this one, the Warriors former three return together to play their old team. The Wizards will be able to keep up with the scoring agianst the Warriors obviously, and the Wiz's interior defense should be able to cope and play well in turn holding Murphy to just a mediocre night.

I hope Kwame can get extra PT than usual as he will be a help defensively. Haywood should be able to establish things inside against Cliff offensively. Cliff will get at him on defense though, and draw him out of the paint and make it difficult for him, but Haywood should be able to get down low and get some easy buckets on Cliff.

Arenas - 20 points, 4 rebounds, 5 assists
Hughes - 15 points, 7 rebounds, 7 assists
Jamison - 26 points, 9 rebounds

Jason Richardson - 21 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists
Troy Murphy - 16 points, 9 rebounds
Speedy Claxton - 17 points, 6 assists

Arenas fouls a lot yet committs less fouls than Speedy in more minutes?

Also I'm not too sure about J-Rich being quicker than Hughes, I think Hughes will actually give him a hard matchup, Hughes pesters a lot of players, look at the job he did on RJ who's even stronger than J-Rich who isn't really that strong [but more than Hughes]. Hughes should harass him, force him to commit some turnovers, and won't give him an easy matchup.

Keys to the Game
Washington:

[*]The Big 3 are Back- Gilbert Arenas, Larry Hughes, and Antawn Jamison are all returning to old stomping grounds here in Oakland. They all played here during their careers..and all 3 left town via FA and trade. They need to come in here looking to make a statement, but also they cant exclude the other players.
[*]Hughes on Richardson- Jason Richardson is the key guy for the Warriors. Will Larry Hughes be able to contain him? Yes he will, IMO Richard Jefferson is a better player than Jason Richardson, and Larry Hughes was able to contain RJ. If he can do that, he can control Richard Jefferson..just do not let him get going early with a couple of dunks, or it could be a long night.
[*]Haywood- Haywood has been pretty good for us this year, except for the first two games of this road trip. He has played horrible games in L.A. and Phoenix. He is going up against the much smaller Cliff Robinson, but he can knock down the perimter shot. Will Haywood be able to defend him on the perimeter or will the Wizards see a lot of Kwame Brown tonight?
Golden State:

[*]Team Effort- The matchups are in the Wizards favor. They have the better starting lineup and argueably a better bench. All of the Warriors are going to need to show up to play tonight or this will be a feast for the quick guards the Wizards have.
[*]Stop Penetration-The Spurs guards, Manu Ginobili and Tony Parker, owned the paint in the Warriors last game. They were getting in there with ease, if Gilbert Arenas can do that like he did against the Lakers then it will be no contest for hte Wizards. I expect the Warriors to come out and play hard and stop penetration.
[*]Run- The Wizards are coming off of 2 games in 3 nights. Run them, see if their legs are good. If it is workling, try to run them out of the buildiing. If this works then the Wizards will be tired on offense and the Warriors will be able to slow the game down.
Prediction
This should really be a no contest for a much improved Wizards team. I think the Wiz will get into the paint early and often and win this one 96-87.

NOTE: The Wizards will be wearing their orange throwbacks and the Warriors will be wearing their blue throwbacks.

This is another very winnable game for the Warriors. The Wizards have played well but they have a deceptive record playing in the East. The Warriors had a day off and should take this one at home. Should be a good game.

Is anyone else going to this game? I'll be there tonight REPRESENTIN'!

If you can meet any of the Warrior players, ask them their plans are for tonight's game. Oh yeah. The Warriors will win once again since they are undefeated wearing The City or Alternative unis

I disagree, yes they play in the east..but they did last year too. This team is much improved this year. They have 13 wins this year, they didn't get 13 wins last year until Sat. January 24th against Indiana. Granted they have played some fairly easy teams this year, you cant take anything away from them. They are a much improved team and should be able to beat the Warriors.

Yes I know they are improved, that is why I said they have played well. They still would not survive in the West and they certainly wouldn't be in the double digits in the W column. The Warriors are at home and are very capable of winning this game, depending on which team shows up. Are the Wizards a better team? Yes. Could the Warriors win this one at home? Yes.

I saw him play a bit in the Houston game. He was running the offense pretty well, made some shots and played good team defense. He isn't bad at all.

You have to be kidding me, the 'Zards have the clear advantage here. I dont think Arenas will be in foul trouble, he only averages 3 fouls a game...that is decent. Arenas will get to the FT line a lot tonight..advantage Wizards.

I think this is sitll Troy's. He will out rebound Jamison and Jamison will probably at one point be guarded by Mickael Pietrus

Ugh...

Well, there were 5 good players on the court tonight and 4 of them were Arenas, Hughes, Jamison and Richardson. Man, they do remind me of Warriors two years ago, and those 3 guys + Ruffin pretty much led the whole team. BTW, what's Kwame doing? He looked totally lost today...

Couldn't get more pissed off at the officiating could ya. Speedy was fouled quite a few times and they never blew the whistle, then he gets called for fouls on the other end which look ticky tack. Bum.

This was his first bad game from coming back from an injury. He is only about 60-65% healed, so I wouldnt put too much thought into this game. He has played pretty well up until now...

Arenas was huge for us Wiz tonight, I didnt expect the Warriors to play that good, you guys have a really good team if you can get one more piece in there and a good team chemistry build up.

Man I was at that game and it got electric towards the end. The Warriors played a good second half and a great 4th quarter. What killed the Warriors was that second quarter when they were shooting all those 3's. Take the ball to the hole and get fouled, it worked for both teams in the second half.
