If you had a chance to own a team which team would it be and why? I would own the Lakers and make several trades to get a good PG in here.
i would prob. gm the bobcats bc they got tons of money. i kknow yall might think i am crazy but i would.
I would own the Bobcats. Crazy? Yeah i think a lot of people might think me crazy to say this, but as a expansion team they have no big contracts on there roster, and will have loads of money this off season. I would sign a few all stars to the team, and start to build a dynasty with that team. They are going to be even farther under the cap this off season then the Clippers have been over the last few seasons. I would not be surprised to see them have a great season after this year if they use that money right. Or I would own the Clippers they have a ton of money, and have good attendence due to the fact that Laker games are so expensive. I once heard the saying that a Clipper fan was jsut a Laker fan who could not afford tickets (not saying its true), but they due get good attendence. They also live in a very marketable area in Los Angeles. Another team that would be intresting to own would be the Bulls they have a lot of youth in there team. They also have some players coming up on free agency like Curry that I would use a trade bait to get a player that would sell tickets. The closest thing to a all star we have had since Jordan left is Jalen Rose. I find that a bit sad though he had a great year his one season with us he is just pretty much a second option scorer in the NBA these days.
If I could own any NBA franchise not named the Miami Heat, i'd own the Toronto Raptors. The marketing potential is incredible with an entire country to yourself, you just have to do it the right way. When Vince was in his prime 4 years ago, Toronto was a real authentic basketball city. I'd buy the Raptors, make some blockbuster trade to acquire a player like KG, and reap the rewards. My second choice would be the Indiana Pacers followed closely by the New York Knicks.
Like Cash Money said, I would own the Lakeshows, so I could try to get them a good PG, and get Tony Bobbit OUT of the IR list, and start playing minutes.
Toronto because it's in Canada The Clippers, it's in a warm place, young players, a lot to build around, and I'd get them to get Brand the ball more. Others would be: Phoenix or Miami because I don't want to be somewhere cold.
Orlando Magic, because it's in Florida, warm and nice place. Because it's my first NBA team to follow and support, and because I just love this team!
I would love to own the 76ers. They`re just my favorite team and I`ve been watching them since I was 9. It would also be nice to own a historic team like the Sixers.
KINGS- - - Why? 1st off, there my favorite team... i would help out the bench by trading Christie for a good SG and some BENCH players
I'd own the Wolves. They are my favorite team and you've got one legit franchise player on the team who is neither thuggish nor does he demand anything from the owner other then a good team to play with, which I would intend to give him anyways. Also despite their age, they also have a lot of youth on the team and solid role players to go with any stars on the team. I'd sign Hassell and Griffin for multiyear contracts and then I would try to trade Latrell for someone like Theo Ratliff, doesn't need to score in the paint, he just needs to block shots and grab rebounds and stuff like that. C- Theo Ratliff PF- KG Backup- Eddie Griffin SF- Wally Szczerbiak SG- Trenton Hassell PG- Sam Cassell I like that.
Toronto Raptors. Accord brough tup the big seller: a whole country to one team. The marketting posibilities are endless and its Canada. My favourite team(toehr thatn the Raps) are hte kings, but I wouldn't pick them, I don't see them as a good team to put myself behind from a business standpoint.
Well one place I don't want to be in is Miami right now. Though they are a promising team, they as an organisation are losing money. New York Knicks are always attractive due to New York being the city it is, but the pressure to win, and bad contracts, just might make it at the bottom of the list, I'll leave that work to Isiah Thomas. Phoenix Suns look attractive they have a great team, own the best record in the league. Charlotte Bobcats also seem attractive; very young and as an organisation 'the sky is the limit'. LA Clippers, seem to have a strong core, nice weather, big city, but I am not convinced the Clippers "curse" has gone. The team I would go with, from a business sense would have to be: San Antonio Spurs - Great coach and solid coaching staff - Prior championships - Top 5 NBA player (Tim Duncan) - Solid role players - Top 5 NBA team - New stadium - no other sporting team in San Antonio, only the San Antonio Spurs, no baseball, no football no nothing. Great revenue potential in my opinion. I have a player in Tim Duncan who will be a M.V.P candidate for every season he plays until the end of his career, or very close to his end. He also attracts other NBA stars due to his non-ego dominated personality, and just as important, I have a big man to build around already. The team is set, all the pieces are there, just got to let the season play out. <div align="center"><font color="Black"><font face="Arial"><font size="4"><u>San Antonio Spurs</u></font></font></font></div> C. <a href="http://www.nba.com/playerfile/radoslav_nesterovic/index.html?nav=page" target="_blank"> Rasho Nesterovic</a> PF. http://www.nba.com/playerfile/tim_duncan/i....html?nav=page" target="_blank">Tim Duncan</a> SF. <a href="http://www.nba.com/playerfile/bruce_bowen/index.html?nav=page" target="_blank"> Bruce Bowen</a> SG. Manu Ginobili PG. http://www.nba.com/playerfile/tony_parker/....html?nav=page" target="_blank"> Tony Parker</a> 6th Man Brent Barry Coach Gregg Popovich Though I would probably change the logo back to this: Oh, did I mention my soon to be owned team rank #1 in all of sports. Sportsnation: Ultimate Rankings Soon to be 2004/05 NBA Champions.
it wouldnt matter. Assuming that I had the money to buy a team, I woulndt buy one unless I had enough money to make them competative with the top teams in the leage. to be sure, the team wouldnt look the same from when I bought it to the following year unless it was a top shelf team to begin with.
I would choose between 4 teams. L.A. Clippers-As stated before they get good attendance ratings with Laker tickets costing so much. Also they are a very young and talented team. With the right coach they can go somehwere. Denver Nuggets-A team with so much potential and have the third lowest team salary in th L. And it doesnt hurt that their by far my favorite team. New York-The most attractive thing about NY is the fane base. People in New York love thier Knicks and that should lead to be one of the most profitable teams in the league. A couple things that i would do is trade away a couple huge salaries(Allen Houston, and yes i know he can shoot but hes not worth $17,531,250. Then try to build the team around Starbury and a few talented young guys Charlotte Bobcats-A expansion team has next to no expectations, their team salary is only around 22 million. They also have two promising players in Gerald Wallace and Emeka. If they manage to make one big signing/trade theycan make some serious noise.
