No I would not because I have morals. I think it would have a lot better, You guys would be ticked off if you heard Kobe say................I am a corvette, Shaq is the race track, I will run all over his ass. See Kobe would have said I would have played that statement of "Im just gonna play some D on Bryant if he drives the lane." Why? Cuz Kobe has class and Kobe is under a microscope and it is quite a double standard and It is ridiculous, it is quite a bigger issue now you see and that is why us Laker Fans take such offense to it. Stop defending something you know is stupid and immature to say, its ridiculous. <font color="Red"><font size="1">Content edited. Watch the language, please. -Brandon</font></font>

Shaq who? I've heard of Snaq but not Shaq. Anyways who cares what that Shaq dude says. I like Mihm dunking on Shaq better, the new guy dunking on the old guy, classic. Wouldn't it be better if every Laker dunked on that dude Shaq? I dont see it happening but one can dream...
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting WadeDynasty:</div><div class="quote_post">What should Shaq say to make the Lakers fans happy? </div> How about not saying anything at all? Shaq has been all about trash talking ever since we sent him packing to Miami MONTHS ago. I've never seen anyone this infatuated with Kobe. Ex-lover indeed.
Classic Shaq As for a Laker dunking on Shaq, I don't think I have EVER seen someone dunk on Shaq. It's just too difficult to do.
I think the reason why we Laker fans got mad about Shaq's statement was how arrogant he was saying that if Kobe ran into him he'd be flattened. Big Fella, you lost your D since probably your MVP season, you lost your hops and got fat, you can barely jump now, and you want to reject the dunk attempt by a high-flying superstar with mad hops? Dream on, the only way you'll stop Kobe from dunking on you is by flagrantly fouling him. Here's my advice, "don't" because you don't want to be Ron Artest II.

We really have no idea of what really happened so we have to make assumptions. But Shaq is just hyping this up so it will be the best game of the season. But as for somebody dunking on Shaq, I don't think iv'e ever seen that happen, and don't think it ever will hapen. <div class="quote_poster">Quoting purpleb0n9:</div><div class="quote_post">I think the reason why we Laker fans got mad about Shaq's statement was how arrogant he was saying that if Kobe ran into him he'd be flattened. Have you not watched him in Miami yet? I'm not sure about the hops part but lost his D and got fat? Shaq's dropped a lot of weight over the summer which made him quicker and able to jump higher. Where have you been?</div> Yes he lost his hops, he got lazy after the 2001-2002 season aka final championship of that three peat dynasty. I suppose he is the same guy who once said, "like Kareem, I am the one punch, and like Magic, Kobe is the two punch... but like Kareem to Magic, I will eventually get older and let Kobe to be the one punch." After the third championship, after Kobe willingly let Shaq dominate and win three Finals MVPs, Kobe remembered it and was capable and ready to take that primary role. But greedy Shaq, despite his game being pretty much suited to a secondary role, was not willing to give it to Kobe. Well, Shaq did as Kobe averaged 30 pts that season (2002-2003), but Shaq didn't serve his secondary role well, being disgruntled throughout the whole season. He broke his own promise. When Kobe was his right man, he served his secondary role well, while Shaq didn't. Anyway, back to my first sentence, he got lazy after the third championship because he was taking backseat to Kobe and eating his own words. He could still jump but he decided he wouldn't and took too many nights off <u>he really lost his hops</u>.
Doesn't matter If Shaq got lazy he still clogs the lane well, better than last year and he is getting almost 3 blocks a game. If Shaq really did take a back seat, the Lakers would not of won the championship. Shaq is much quickler around the basket than he was last year which is why he is better defensively. He has to do less on offense due to the fact the Heat have more offensive options than past Laker teams have. Amazing to see a fan call Shaq greedy when you're favourite player is Kobe Bryant, the man who wanted all the spotlight and now he has It, is struggling.

NBA players are supposed to be professional, and I believe Kobe served his secondary role professionally in the three championship seasons. Kobe didn't like Shaq, he didn't like being the second guy to Shaq, but he put aside his personal feelings and served his duty well. The result? Three championships. Shaq? When the time came for Shaq to let Kobe reign, he let his personal feelings get in the way... "to hell with it, I'm the dog, if you don't feed the dog, he's not going to guard the house..." . Shaq's been that way, he runs his mouth and makes promises he will break.

When you have a guy shooting 60% from the field in the finals you don't go away from that guy. You don't go shooting under 40% from the floor for a whole series. Fact remains the Lakers wasted many of Shaq's great performances in last seasons finals, as Phil Jackson stated. You don't go away from what makes you successful and thats exactly what the Lakers did. I also don't buy the fact Shaq is quicker due to playing a secondary role, he is quicker due to the fact he actually worked hard in the off-season to get into better shape.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting WadeDynasty:</div><div class="quote_post">He was alluding it i guess. But you shouldn't take the credits away from your team, the Pistons, they played excellent D that all passing lines were shut out by those long arms of Rasheed and Tayshaun. Kobe was too nice, he knew poor Shaq couldn't ever be the second man, esp. second to him, Kobe again was letting Shaq be the first option. But, alas, the Piston D made it virtually impossible to keep making successful passes to Shaq without committing turnovers , so the perimeter guys had to step up. And Kobe of course was our best perimeter guy and everybody was like, "oh he took ill-advised shots" while they didn't know Kobe was trying his best to serve his duty as <u>the secondary option</u> since the first option was no longer an option... and it looked like the shots were ill-advised because Tay was guarding him and those were not at all easy shots but Kobe still had to take them because he was our best chance to win. But everybody else, who didn't analyse carefully, shot him down and said he's a selfish jerk. And if you don't buy it, what do you think of Vince Carter? It's one thing to be out of shape, but it's another thing to play unmotivated or disgruntled. Sorry out of topic, but I'll just mention this short, Toronto had to make that horrible trade because of one thing: they had to get rid of VC quick because they wanted nothing to do with him anymore. He was mad everyday, he brought negativities to the team, and Shaq in the past two years in LA was just like Vince... in fact we had to feel fortunate to get professional players like Odom and Butler in return. Everybody in LA wouldn't have minded if Pat Riley signed the Heat dance team to match Shaq's salary and traded them straight up for him.
^ Haha, hilarious. Kobe tried to take the spotlight in the finals, just like Artest did away from Jermaine O'Neal in the Conference Finals. The result? Both were shutdown by Tayshaun Prince, and both teams couldn't knock off the balanced attack and defense of Detroit. Great comments by Shaq, adds even more spice to the game. Laker fans really need to stop taking everything so literally and being so precious about Kobe.

Pistons always have done a good job shutting down the passing lines but still truely great players find a way to escape that and find other ways to win. Sheed, Ben, Elden, Memo all did a good job on Shaq but in reality they knew he couldn't be stopped which is why they wanted Kobe shooting and throwing up terrible shots, that was part of the game plan. It was amazing to see Kobe play right into the Pistons hands, trust me the last thing you should do when you are being guarded by Tay is to shoot jumpshots. Didn't Kobe even watch the Nets playoff series? Richard Jefferson was effective because of the way he attacked the basket, the situation was no different. Once Kobe knew he couldn't shoot the ball over Prince, instead of attacking the rim or lobbing into Shaq he decides to still shoot jumpers. Obviously his IQ isn't very high. Everyone watched the finals and wouldn't saying Kobe was selfish If he really wasn't, people make judgements on Kobe without watching him play but everyone watched the finals and knew what his plan was, to win finals MVP and to get credit as the man. Quite simply Laker fans or Kobe fans as there are two forms here, like to use the passing lines excuse to make themselves feel better when in reality the Lakers stopped going to Shaq on many offensive sets. Now without Shaq, Kobe is shooting the ball at the same % as he was in the finals. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">And if you don't buy it, what do you think of Vince Carter? People may say the same about Shaq but he still made the Lakers a contender even If he was fat and out of shape. If Kobe took a back seat during the past two seasons, Kobe could of had 5 rings. Kobe has shot around 40% and under 40% the past two playoff seasons while Shaq remains a 55+% shooter. Two years ago the Lakers role players weren't hitting and thats the reason Lakers lost according to Laker fans but really It had more to do with more of Kobe and less of Shaq. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"> That's what a true fan will do, stand up for his fav players til the end. </div> There's a difference between being a fan and a groupie. Seems many Laker fans maybe not on here but in general truely believe Kobe can do no wrong and downplay what Shaq meant to the Lakers franchise. All the talks lately is how bad a team-mate Kobe is in practise. anyone here what Mark Madsen recently said? ouch, just because Madsen scored over Kobe..he decides to start pushing and shouting at Madsen? someone has an ego problem.

If I had a way to put the footage on my computer, I'd show you that Michael Olowokandi, Brent Barry, Michael Jordan, Erick Dampier, and Austin Croshere have all dunked on Shaq...and he contested them....and that's just out of the tapes that I have. If Kobe can throw it down over Ben Wallace, Tim Duncan, David Robinson, Kevin Garnett, Rik Smits and...hey...Michael Olowokandi, then Shaq will be added to that list in due time, whether it's Christmas Day or St. Patricks Day. If Shaq wants to stop him, he'll use his body...but he'll be tossed for doing it if it's uncalled for, and Kobe won't lose his composure. Plus, let's not forget that Kobe isn't a stick anymore, either...so a little bump by Shaq won't phase him (maybe a huge one, but Shaq isn't that stupid...I don't think). Also, everyone needs to watch the language and personal attacks in this thread. It can get out of hand very quickly, and lead to me eventually closing the thread.
