What are some possible players we could land to strengthen our team? I haven't been paying much attention to any rumors lately but now that my first semester of college is out of the way I'm interested to know what's going on. I went to the game tonight versus the Raptors and started to wonder about Donyell Marshall coming to Houston. Also, is there anyway we could tempt Kidd to Houston. Possibly sendin Mo Taylor, Reece Gaines, one more player and our trade exception?
Unfortunately, I don't think we have much of a chance of doing anything. Unless someone is stupid enough to take Mo Taylor or Juwan Howard, then we're stuck with our trade exception and that's about it.
I think Gary Payton may be on the block if Houston can offer Boston the right package. It's no secret The Glove wants a ring to put the exclamation point on his career, and he's already stated that he'll be leaving Boston when he becomes a free agent at the end of the season. It's also no secret that Boston's Danny Ainge has a happy trigger finger, and he's always interested in young talent and draft picks. So given that information, I could defintely see Boston being interested in a package containing perhaps Reece Gaines and Bostjan Nachbar, along with some draft picks in exchange for Gary Payton. Boston would receive young talent and draft picks, assisting them in their rebuilding process. Houston would obtain a veteran point guard who's played at the level that they're trying to reach, finally giving them stability at that postion, and making them a serious contender down the stretch. Thus, everyone is happy...
Yao and Tracy aren't at the NBA Championship level yet though. Gary would want to go somewhere that has a good chance of winning it all this year or next. Houston is not that.
I think houston needs to make a trade for point guard and as for the the pf spot we should just wait for the offseason. Because (correct me if im wrong) i think players like Stromile Swift and Tyson Chandler are free agents.

Anyone heard about that?
I believe that trade is meant as a joke, considering it would pretty much turn the Rockets entirely into the 2003-2004 Orlando Magic... McGrady Lue Gaines Howard Garrity DeClerq Gooden
well thanks to the management and Van Dummy we are stuck with the team we have now for at least another 2 years.....only way we get better is if someone is stupid enough to take some of our role players or if someone is willing to sign under our Middle Class Exception....we also have the NBA Draft, hopefully we can get a PF somehow
Yeah, right now all we can do is wait for the free agency or draft. No one on our team is that attractive besides Yao and McGrady, who we won't trade. Look on the Official Rockets Trade Thread for ideas and stuff, its where this trading stuff are in. Taylor and Howard are trash right now, so I'd doubt anyone would take them. Even if they do consider it, their expensive contracts will make them not even want to come near us. However, does anyone have any info on the free agency? I know its pretty bad right now, so see if theres anyone in the offseason.
