<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"> The Toronto Sun reported Tuesday that Raptors General Manager, Rob Babcock, is on the verge of completing a deal with the Miami Heat that would send Jalen Rose, Alonzo Mourning and a first round draft pick to the Heat in exange for Wesley Person, Udonis Haslem and Dorell Wright. Miami's general manager informed the Miami Herald that there was a need for a swingman (Jalen Rose) on the team and that there would be a suprising trade in the near future. The most suprising thing about this trade is that Alonzo Mourning himself contacted the Heat's Gm,Rob Clough, to tell him the he would like to play for a contender like the Heat. Many say he is the orchestrator of the trade.</div>

This would be a Very nice trade for T.O...Very nice

And we don't even give up Donyell? That's amazing... if it's true.

i dont see person starting over eric williams. mo pete and eric williams are our two best perimeter defenders...person would come off the bench.

haslem is most certainly an up and comming talent...he bangs and has a mid range touch...id love to see him a raptor

    Post a link man

Is Zo Still part of the Raptors, or did the buyout go through? If the Buyout did go through, then this trade doesn't work. Heck, this trade doesn't even come close with just Jalen. Haslem, Wright and Wesley make what, 4 Million in total tops? Plus we don't even have enough roster space to make this go through. Post a link next time.

Buyout didn't happen and Babcock said he's not going to buy Zo out.

Anyway, I don't see this trade happening anytime soon because not only the salary cap situation does not work out, Alonzo Mourning cannot be traded with any other players on Raptors roster for 2 months because he's been recently traded. There would have to be a third team involved in the trade to make the salaries work.

I messed around on the trade checker and came up with this trade:

    Toronto trades:
PF Donyell Marshall (11.4 ppg, 6.3 rpg, 1.3 apg in 25.3 minutes)
    C Alonzo Mourning (10.4 ppg, 7.1 rpg, 0.8 apg in 25.4 minutes)
SG Jalen Rose (14.7 ppg, 3.3 rpg, 2.2 apg in 30.6 minutes)

    Toronto receives:
SF Dorell Wright (No games yet played in 2004/05)
SG Wesley Person (4.1 ppg, 1.8 rpg, 0.8 apg in 14.9 minutes)
PF Malik Allen (7.1 ppg, 4.3 rpg, 0.8 apg in 20.2 minutes)
SG Eddie Jones (11.1 ppg, 4.5 rpg, 2.6 apg in 33.5 minutes)
Nets' 5 million trade exception. (Used RJ's, Ron Mercer's and Jason Collin's contracts to add up to 5 million)

    Miami trades:
SF Dorell Wright (No games yet played in 2004/05)
SG Wesley Person (4.1 ppg, 1.8 rpg, 0.8 apg in 14.9 minutes)
PF Malik Allen (7.1 ppg, 4.3 rpg, 0.8 apg in 20.2 minutes)
SG Eddie Jones (11.1 ppg, 4.5 rpg, 2.6 apg in 33.5 minutes)

    Miami receives:
    C Alonzo Mourning (10.4 ppg, 7.1 rpg, 0.8 apg in 25.4 minutes)
SG Jalen Rose (14.7 ppg, 3.3 rpg, 2.2 apg in 30.6 minutes)

    New Jersey trades:
5 million trade exception recieved from Kenyon Martin trade.
    New Jersey receives:
PF Donyell Marshall (11.4 ppg, 6.3 rpg, 1.3 apg in 25.3 minutes)

    TRADE ACCEPTED

Due to Toronto, Miami, and New Jersey being over the cap, the 15% trade rule is invoked. Toronto, Miami, and New Jersey had to be no more than 115% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

I want to keep Marshall. Unless he can gurantee us that he'll stay after this season, then I would do this trade. The only reason though is because we'll get Dorrell Wright.

    Future Raps Team:

    PG: Alston/Gilchrist
    SG: McCants
    SF: Wright
    PF: Bosh
    -C: Araujo?

I'd like this team, but obviously we won't get the team too look like this...but with 2 picks this year, our future looks bright.

I think this is false, where did you get this..since when do articles have mispellings in them?

Miami Heral? Last time I checked it was the Herald:

    <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Miami's general manage informed the <u>Miami Heral</u> that...</div>

Miami will not trade Wright, he is their future along with Wade.

this was probably on hoopshype for the spelling errors, but was reported by the Toronto Sun..

Just drop off the damn link.
Anyways, it ain't gonna happen with those mentioned players. Conracts don't match and Pat would be really stupid to give up this much.

Id definately love for that trade to go down, but with the cap issues, it seems highly unlikely.

I really am questioning this trade.

Haven't seen Dorell even play in the nba.
Person does nothing for the heat.
Haslem is a hard worker, but we already have an improving PF in Bosh, and Donyell is a great backup.

Not to mention we lose a 1st rounder.

We should save our veteran players(Jalen and Zo), and since they seem to want to be traded, as the deadline approaches, teams that want to make playoffs will give us better offers. It would be easier to make a push with Zo or Jalen on their teams.

Regardless I believe we can't trade Zo for a month or two, because the trade is too recent.
