Someone who posts a quote but doesn't provide a link is obviously lying. And if the Toronto Sun allegedly reported this news, then how come no one else heard of this? And of course the salaries don't match up and it makes no sense for the Heat to do this deal. This thread should be locked.

A more sensible rumor is the one that Chad Ford of ESPN Insider is reporting.

To Miami:
Jalen Rose

And in a separate transaction:
Toronto would buy out Mourning, then Mourning would sign with the Heat for the vet minimum.

malik, person, eddie...raps dont want any of those guys.

if the trade somehow included haslem the raps would consider swapping jalen's horrid contract for eddies...but otherwise i dont see how this trade would benefit the raps down the road which is CLEARLY babcock's vision.

but what a nice lineup for mia...wade moves to the sg where he clearly should be playing...especially with d.jones bombing 3's the way he has been this year...and a legit small forward instead of eddie playing out of position. PLUS it gives them yell marshall at the 4 to help out on the boards and strech out the defense. and how good would marshall look starting up front with shaq dadd? omg he'd play so well...wide open 3's all day long

Damn.... Yea that would make the heat amazing. Jalen would be a much better fit in Miami, b/c he is a small forward, he is more talented that Eddie Jones. As well as Eddie has kind of stunk it up this year.

If they were to sign Zo afterwards. It would amazing with this rotation:

PG: Damon / Dooling
SG: Wade
SF: Jalen
PF: Marshall / Laettner
C: Shaq / Zo

Jalen, Marshall, and Zo are all flexible being playable at a couple positions.

My thoughts though, I don't think the raps can get the best trade from the heat unless it is some type of 3 way trade.

It probably will happen that the Raptors trade Jalen. But if that were to happen, wow. The Heat would be good

How possible? Honestly, I don't know. But like I mentioned in another thread... Alonzo Mourning is too high of a risk to be traded away to the Heat... and if he is to be bought out and then signs with the Heat, well... the Raptors are still making a less-than-profitable thread.

We haven't seen Dorell Wright; Wesley Person is 33 - if we're looking to rebuild for the future, our veteran leadership is pretty good with Marshall, whom I'd much rather keep than have these guys - and Aaron Williams who can contribute; Udonis Haslem is a hard worker, and he's about the only good point that would come out of that trade. As for Jones, for me, it would be either him or Person - they're essentially playing the same position - and Eric Williams and Mo Peterson are playing those spots (also, Lamond Murray if we get so far as to give them more SF minutes...) As for Allen, we'd just be putting him into a roster that already has Bonner, Bosh, Sow, Araujo, Woods, and Aaron Williams at the PF/C spots.

 

i agree but what if they took Person out and put in Damon Jones ive been watching this guy play and he would be a real good offensive and defensive player and Dorrel Wright i have never seen him plat but he was top 10 pick rite or am i wrong well if he was then he should be good.

 

They wouldn't give up Damon Jones, he's performing really well for them, and including him in a trade involving Jalen Rose would probably just screw up the dynamics down in Miami. They already have Dwyane Wade and Shaq, who are the stars you need. We don't know how Wade will take to playing with O'Neal as his career continues, and Miami doesn't need, in my opinion, Rose to be there as a starter - there are enough shots for a Damon Jones or similar player to share with Shaq and Wade, but with Rose, it's another story.

That would be the greatest risk that i would take with waiting till the deadline when playoff hungry teams are in need of a highscoring rebounding PF.....then i think we will be able to get 1 1st round pick and a player not established yet maybe like a player like Qyntel Woods which was suppose to be really good but dunt get any playing time.....but in the other case if we give him now we will prolly get a vet like him and some other player.
