<div class="quote_poster">Quoting The_Game46:</div><div class="quote_post">Walker is an upgrade over KT cuz he gets the system better than him, also look at his stats, its all-star stat! Also if this does not work-out aint Walker free-agent next year?</div> Walker is a free agent this off season, but so is Glenn Robinson who also would have to be included in the trade considering Atlanta wants "expiring contracts" in this deal. Then also that would put us back where we started off we have Walker who shoots 30 percent from three point range jacking up threes, Walker is 8th in the league in three point field goals attempted, and averages 5.4 a game why would we want that on our team? He also has only 15 less shots then the current reigning MVP would AI want to have a guy on his team jacking up that many shots it would be like when Stack was here not enough shots to go around. Walker an upgrade over KT? that may be a good point, but then I dont understand what you mean by he gets the system? If it is intended to be meant in the way he gets the system, because he played for JO before then I have to disagree. JO is trying to have this team with a run and gun offense when he coached the Celtics they had a gun offense, but without the run part. I remember watching a game, and Bill Walton saying "how do they expect the fans to get excited they dont even try to run the break" when the Celtics where playing last season. His numbers are good, but all star caliber good? no. Look at his shot attempts once again he should be averaging a lot more points when he attempts that many shots. Not only that, but he also ranks top ten in the league in turnovers when AI is trying to adjust to the point guard spot, and averaging that many turnovers. Why would we want yet another guy turning the ball over when ever he gets it. This would kill our team. So to sum it all up. Why take the risk we dont gain anything, because we would probably have to give up our own expiring contracts, but we risk everything. I say hell no to a Walker trade. Just my opinion though you are entitled to yuor own.
Walker played well in Boston under O?Brien?s system, that?s why it?s a possible good fit for us. When you look at his stats as a Celtic, they are all star capable numbers, but O?Brien is known to give players a lot of freedom. You can't have those types of players alongside Allen Iverson. With that being said I highly doubt that AI and Toine could co exist on the same team. Unless Walker changes his mindset, witch I doubt will happen. Besides, why would the Hawks want Robinson when they have Walker? They won't want Robinson back because they already had him before. Not to mention Walker is basically the same thing, his contract is expiring but he is playing and producing so why would they want Glenn for Walker. That doesn't make sense at all.

What I was stating is the Hawks would want expiring contracts in return for Walkers they as well as a good player possibly Josh Davis, Glenn Robinson, and a good player for Walker and some fillers which would be a bad trade for both teams. Then you first paragraph just restates what I just finished posting in my earlier reply.
I don't really trust hoops hype and I'm finding it hard to believe that Philly is "desperate" fot Antione Walker. That would be a bad pick-up on Philly's part, O'Brien coaching or not.
I don't really think we need any trades at this moment............ There are too many trades being talked about the Sixers. I think all our pieces are there, we just need to execute them. What Iverson needs is a good big man who can defend, rebound and score their share of points. I think Sammy Dalembert has a great chance to become a duo with AI. Dikembe Mutombo is the perfect example of a player AI can co-exist with. IT got them to the Finals nad they had the right pieces. Sammy plays a lot like Mutombo did. What we do need is a defensive minded player on this team. IMO Bruce Bowen would be the kind of player this team needs. We DO NOT need Antoine Walker. He takes too many shots. Iverson cannot work with a player like that. IIt would be a Iverson or Toine situation and I think EVERY ONE knows who we would want.
