CK, the point of this thread was : would you trade Amare? Well sonic1 explained, for the right price every player is tradeable.
Would I trade Amare for Shaq now? No. Trade him for 92' Shaq? Yes. Shaq is still dominant when he wants to be, but he has too many lingering 'big man' type of injuries. KG? No. He is at this point an all around better player than Amare. But Amare is more dominant at 22 than KG was. Sorry KG lovers...but I think Amare could eventually be just as good of an all around player as KG...possibly better. Duncan. I think the main thing you have to consider is that Duncan had 4yrs of college. He had the fundementals down to a Tee when he first came into the league. Add to that Amare is 10 times more athletic than Duncan. You can learn fundementals...you can't learn athleticisim. The biggest reason I wouldn't trade Amare for anyone is his work ethic. Not sayng KG, Duncan, and Shaq don't have one. But Amares size, quickness, athleticisim, great hands, fearlessness, aggresiveness, and his uncanny work ethic and desire to keep getting better...that's a very VERY rare combo. Call me a biased homer, but Ive watched all 4 of these guys throughout their careers, but I honestly feel Amare possesess more skills and more potential at 22 than any of the big 3 did. I agree that trading Amare for any of the big 3 might bring Phoenix a championship soon. But I think Amare could potentially bring one just as quick....and still have 10-15yrs of play left in him. Again....I'm not knocking KG, Duncan, or Shaq in the slightest....I just believe in Amare that much.
I wouldnt not even for KG Amare has developed into something special this year and he will lead this team to the playoffs.
After Amare's 50 point game and last nights performance against the T-wolves, there is not way i would trade Amare. Not many people can break KG's ankles and then dunk on him.
I wouldn't trade Amare for anyone because he is playing great and leading this team and he is still very young. He has a bright future ahead of him so I don't know why the Suns would want to get rid of him.
