Are you Raptors fans satisfied with the team we have right now? Or are you wishing that we had a "franchise player" superstar instead of a cast of average to above average players? We really have no elite player at the moment and I want to ask you guys if you think that it's a bad thing that we don't really have a "defining" player. Every team in the league has one, even the Bobcats and we are sort of faceless right now. This situation reminds me of the Utah situation last year with a bunch of average players that manage to play well but even Utah had a superstar break out in the form of AK-47. We have Rafer, but he is at times inconsistent and he's not really a franchise player and is more fit for the solid role player status. We have Bosh, he is SOLID but he can't really lead us to victories every game like Carter USED to do, can he? We have Rose but he is frustrated, on the trading block, plays no defence and comes off the bench. I think if we start winning as a collective unit then this superstar crap will be forgotten because as soon as you win, there will always be one player who shines through consistently, but until then, our status in the Eastern Conference is still a question mark. I had high expectations for the Raptors with Vince, Jalen and Rafer. Unfortunetly those expectations disappointed me. I had high expectations with the trade since I thought we were getting Zo. Unfortunetly, Zo doesn't wannt play, Aaron Williams barely contributes and it lokos like all we got (presently) for Vince was Eric Williams. Hey, when we're winning superstar-less then I have no complaints but in tight games down the stretch, don't you wish we had a guy to go to every single time down the floor? We got Rose but I don't really trust him THAT much down the stretch and on top of that, he's about to be dealt soon. Man I miss the good ol' days.
Babcock thinks long-term. remember that! try to figure out what is going on man lol we are rebuilding basically and we do have an average team but thats what detroit had and traded at the end of the deadline for sheed. thats what we are gonna do with zo and maybe jalen. but im not saying we are like them, we are following the same path and precautions they took. but still listen we have some great young guys who we can build around bosh rafer mo and bonner (aruajo sorta not yet) lol just think long term.
We desperately need a superstar, superstars who are clutch in late part of the 4th while not letting their team breakdown like the Raptors have done prior to Vince.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting og15:</div><div class="quote_post">We all know Jarret Jack right? Okay, so that's the end of this conversation </div> lol Jarret Jack...We could get him in the 2nd round Bosh, McCants, Hoffa and Gilchrist is the Future
We can't continue with 7 players with more then 10 pts but less then 15... We need superstar instantly- in a month at the most. One that take charge on the team play, one that can take the ball in the last minute and win the game like Vince, some one like J-Rich... T-Mac... and the others. What we can do it's simple- like New-Jersy do with us... they give us 3,4 middle players and take superstar. And now we all know who have the best trade (Raps or Nets), definitely Nets!. HEY!!! Babcock ! Wake up! we are lossing year after a year- and you need to stop the retrogression, or else we will continue to get down... and we will see the Playoff from the last rank in the East. Good luck Raps in Golden State.

I mean we got three guys that are potential 20+ scorers sitting on the bench instead of starting and getting more minutes. Jalen can score 20 Donyell can score 20 Lamond can score 20 But yet Mitchell inserts Eric Williams and Araujo in the starting lineup to try and find a "winning" formula? The raps have proven this year that they can WIN without a "superstar"...Mitchell needs to stop tinkering with his lineup and play those guys some consistent minutes. My starting lineup would be: C-Marshall PF-Bosh SF-Murray SG-Rose PG-Alston
well, when the whole team plays together at builds up a reasonable lead, then we don't need any "clutch" we just need more defence from everybody.
We can't have any coach changes soon, we've changed our coach continuosly the past few years, doesn't help the team at all. Banks I don't know what you're talking about, who needs those guys when we have guys like Milt, Pape Sow and Bonner with Superstar potential, <u>MILT</u>.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Banks:</div><div class="quote_post">lol Jarret Jack...We could get him in the 2nd round Bosh, McCants, Hoffa and Gilchrist is the Future </div> C: Rafeal Araujo/Pape Sow PF: Chris Bosh/Matt Bonner SF: Marvin Williams Jr/Morris Peterson SG: Dorrel Wright PG: Jarret Jack with Veterans such as: Eddie Jones Rafer Alston (he's 28) Eric Williams Aaron Williams Alvin Williams Lamond Murray (Obviously im assuming the deal with Miami goes through) Possibly send Pape Sow to Europe for development? Now thats a team with promise
yeah, we do need a superstar, wow i think this is the first year since expansion year that we didnt have a superstar...... damon, mcgrady(superrstar in making), carter this year we have bosh but its not fair to put ur team on the 20 year olds back to carry the team yet, not even garnett could do that. so i think we should trade for an allstar at least. maybe micheal redd? magloire? baron?
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Possibly send Pape Sow to Europe for development?</div> Can't, you can't send them for development after you sign them, if we wanted to we would've had to do it before the season. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">yeah, we do need a superstar, wow i think this is the first year since expansion year that we didnt have a superstar...... damon, mcgrady(superrstar in making), carter this year we have bosh but its not fair to put ur team on the 20 year olds back to carry the team yet, not even garnett could do that. so i think we should trade for an allstar at least. maybe micheal redd? magloire? baron?</div> Baron is considered a superstar, he's a top 15 player in the league when healthy. How in the world are we going to get any of these guys lol, we don't have an assests, we can't get Redd, let's end that situation, and even if we did he'd not re-ign after the season, but it can't happen. No Baron, and Magloire we'd have to give a lot, but I don't think we're getting anyone as thigns are looking right now, as much as people might think so.
but considering baron, if he does not want to be there, and the team is a lotterybound team for at least another 3 years, we might b able to get sum1
Yea but their's teams with much better offers than we can provide with Donyell Marshall and whatever else we want to add, so I don't know why they'd trade with us instead?
Jarret Jack a superstar? please tell ,me you're kidding! On the other side, Mccants would look great in purple.

My starting lineup would be: C-Marshall PF-Bosh SF-Murray SG-Rose PG-Alston </div> I would agree but many of the "superstars" in this league won't be traded for just some role players that are solid. The reason Vince was traded is because he was posting horrible numbers and playing like a role player rather then a superstar. I think we should go for someone like Jason Richardson or Desmond Mason....those guys might get thier careers to a higher degree given the chance to shine. We have an extreme amount of solid players and I should cash some of them in for "potential superstars" rather then "franchise players" because we're gonna get another franchise player without trading away a franchise player. I seriously don't know what direction the Raptors are going right now, this whole season just seems to hollow and has been a great disappointment.
Seriously, we're not going to get anyone, again look fro mthe other teams perspective, Milwaukee might not get Redd back after the season, so why trade Desmond Mason who's jumpshot is looking better and better everyday, and will likely be the starter with Redd's departure? Jason Richardson just got re-signed, I don't see if in GS's plans to do anything with him, and then again, what do we have to offer? They have enough young players as it is, so I don't think draft picks are a big drawing factor for them.
