Jefferson's negative is his tattoos. I think that they distract a person from the game and show immaturity.
My Negative: Turnover, sometimes he over penetrates in the lane and gets in trouble trying to make a jump pass or a play that clearly isnt there. He is getting better at reading the defense and the way teams setup to stop him. But he still has a way to go.

All it is, is a way to express yourself... I think he needs to work on his FT's in the clutch, I remember earlier this year he was struggling with his FT's during crunch time...has he improved on that?

I mean it definately isnt were it needs to be for a star player, who is going to get all the calls down the stretch like RJ gets. But in the past it was almost automatic in the 4th, he would split a pair of free throws everytime. And alot of the time miss both but you can clearly see that starting to change up a bit. Against Cleveland he hit a pair of big 4th quater free throws.
Shot SElection- O goodness, you don't know how much I hated RJ during the Olympics for His POOR selection of shooting. Absolutly dreadful as Simon would say.

Absolutly dreadful as Simon would say. </div> Yeah his shot selection at times leaves something to be desired. But that can be attributed to a # of things mainly the fact this is his 1st year as the man so to speak, their are alot more isolations called for him, alot of one on one plays, that leads to bad shot selection in certain situations ie the Detroit game in the 4th quarter. As far as the Olympics goes, Iam happy that he went thru that experience, I think those struggles made him a stronger player. And will continue to make him a stronger player in the future. Things came really easy for RJ, jumping from that Arizona team that was in the national championship team, to the Nets back to back eastern conference championship teams, his 1st two years. He even admitted that the Detriot series followed by the Olympics was the most difficult time as far as facing defeat goes, in his basketball career. It point out things that he needed to work on. And you can see he has spent sometime trying to add new phases to his game. And if you think about it alot of those cats from the olympic team seem to have gotten better Amare Stoudmire dramatic improvement, even a cat like Lebron who could do nothing wrong last year to many, quickly came to see them cats from overseas aint impressed on how high he can jump. It maybe time to learn to make a jumpshot consistently and seems to have improved after the olympic failures. And Steph is easily showing more of his ablity to be a team player after the olympic display. Alot of those guys really have taken new steps in there games from my view point.

In fact, I think you can safely say the best players in the league have tatoos. <div class="quote_poster">Quoting waneko:</div><div class="quote_post">His voice. He sounds like Richard Pryor imitating a white person.</div> I know what you mean. Tim Duncan sounds like that too. My Negative: This is his first year in being the go to guy so sometimes I think he tries to do things beyound his abilities. Especially before Carter came into town, he was taking some illadvised shots. But, because he has some help with Kidd and Carter, I think that he wont do it as much.

Besides when Jordan was around, tatoos were around by not nearly as big. KG has tatoos on his arm, and Duncan has one on his bad. When you look at the "Duncan" on his jersey you can't miss it. Their tatoos have nothing to do with their attitude. The players with the tatoos have accomplished a lot too. So, the fact that a player has a tatoo is irreleveant to his what he does on the court. As I pointed out earlier the best players today, have tatoos. It's hard to think of a star without one.
I think that RJ's biggest problems are the turnovers and his shot selection. At times during a game especially in the beginning when the game hasn't really got going yet he will take shots that really make little or no sense. Maybe that just means that he needs to work on his patience. Some of these other "negatives" are really dumb. A tattoo is not necessarily a negative. Just because someone chooses to express themselves through ink does not mean that the individual is immature. Also, Kidd has a tattoo on his chest of some sort of animal.

The only "big name" players I can think of without tatoos are Allan Houston, Redd, Dwyane Wade, Vince Carter, Gilbert Arenas, Chris Bosh, and I'm not sure about Jamison and Brand, but so many players in the league have them that I don't think it has any effect. Maybe it's just that these players just aren't as good as Jordan?
