Warriors by 4, the Warriors like to run, and it just scares me whenever we play a running team, I think we can keep up with them, but they have a lot of weapons, and we're also in their house.

    No Rap fans on tonite?

Great game from Araujo, Alston, Marshall and Rose (offensively), but we couldn't get stops. Dunleavy just killed us. J-Rich looked like T-Mac out there. We need last years defense to go with this years offense, and then we might have a good team.

    You gotta love Hoffa [IMG]

BTW Eric Williams left the game with some sort of ankle injury.

I am impressed with Araujo...if he continues this...just shows how everyone was too early to judge him with that thread that was posted earlier

Although I'm extremely happy with Hoffa's impressive outtings the past two games, I can't help but feel disappointed at the fact that we would've had a pretty good team had Carter not been traded. Assuming Araujo continues his impressive play and also assuming Carter was content as being a Raptor, our starting line-up would be pretty solid:

    pg- Alston
    sg- Rose/Peterson
    sf- Carter
    pf-Bosh
    c - Araujo

And with the "Zoo Crew" continuing their solid play, we'd have a complete team on our hands.

Defense, Defense, Defense, if we could actually play some defense, maybe we'd win some games down the stretch, but we can't, so nope.

I've been really critical of Araujo, but from how he's playing it seems like Mitchell just wasn't giving him a chance as opposed to him just sucking.

If we can have that then we just need to stack up on SG/SF's in the draft and we'd have a whole lot of young players.

Man I'm tired of this. The god d*mn losses are piling up, and they're all due to blowing up definsive assignments at the end of the game.
I had enough of moral victories and batting rookies on the back after impressive games. Seriously, someone have to teach these kids how to play defence and hustle for god's sake.
I'll accept it if all the defensive miscues are coming from Hoffa, Bosh or Bonner. But most of our definsive liabilty are veterans with contracts as big as their egos.

Seriously Jalen. What in heaven's name was he doing out there??? Same applies for Lamond. This team could score at will, but no effort whatsoever on defence from those forementioned so called "veterans".

Dunleavy who was 3-21 FGs his previous two games goes off for 29???!!! All wide open jumpers or blowing by his man!
Or J-Rich getting jump shots that were open wider than Paris Hilton's legs. Ofcourse he's going to hit them.

I'm just exhausted of staying until 1:30 AM back-to-back nights watching a team that hangs around all game long and at the end, Bosh, Milt, Marshall and Rose let their man, who's not known for shooting, blow by them and get an easy lay up.
First thing you learn in high school is how to play defence with your feet and stay between your man and the basket but these guys just do not get it. I have never seen such a bad defensive team since the 1984 Sixers. Can't blame Sam Mitchell when he benches those lazy ego-driven people.
And the amazement shines brighter when you hear Jalen after tonight's game saying: "Defence is all effort and heart, we just have to go out there and compete"!!!

I know we're building long term, but those habits are absolutly inexcusable.
Losses are piling up game after game. Sam Mitchell would have 100% of my support on what he does after what I have seen over the last couple of weeks from certain players who I already identified.

    I hope 2005 is differnet.

Jalen was our best offensive player tonight. He made shots when our offense wasn't doing good, and heped us back in the game. Defensively, he's not good we know that, but Eric Williams was out, and Lamond Murray isn't much better, if he is better, than Jalen Rose. I dunno who else you would in there instead of Lamond and Jalen. Bosh on Dunleavy? Milt on Dunleavy?

It didn't matter who you put on Dunleavy today because, the only good perimeter defender we have is Morris Peterson (and Eric, but he's injured), and even he was getting beat by his own man, J-Rich. He did a good ok job on Dunleavy, but he needed to contain JR. Dunleavy was just on fire today, and it didn't matter who you put on him, he was gonna nail it. If you put Mo' on Dunleavy, then you got Lamond or Jalen on J-Rich [IMG] We need our better players to play better one on one defense, cuz we always getting beat on the bounce.

We need to activate Pape man, he'll stop Kobe, Nash, Amare, and whoever else you tell him to guard.

how are you so sure? but yeah we need to give him a chance, also now, more then ever we need to trade Jalen since his stock is up, its pretty visible that hes not happy to be a Raptor anymore, so we'll have to get new bodies in.

I don't understand your complaints with Jalen and Lammond, yes, they suck at defending, but Eric Williams got injured, and they're our 2 backup SG/SF's, we really don't have a choice but to play them. Jalen did good offensively though, he's been putting up points for us, and as annoying as he is, he knows how to score.

I'm not critiszing Sam saying that they should have been benched. We have no body else that could and both lamond and Jalen were good offensivly.
But what I'm saying is they don't even try on defence, specially Jalen. I know dunleavy and Richardson had it going last night, but you at least have to get up and contest their shots.
You can't tell me that Jalen played 100% defensivly last night.

Has Jalen ever played 100% defensively? lol

Even when he's trying he just fouls people on jumpshots and gives then free throws, theirs nothing to hope for in terms of Jalen Rose and defense.

man our D is just so weak. it seems almost every game, someone just goes OFF on us. look at the passed 10 games:

    j-rich - 35 and 8
    kobe - 48
    amare - 33 and 6
    boozer - 29 and 10
    yao - 40 and 10...tmac had 34, 12 and 7
    jefferson - 38, 4 and 5
jeff foster 10pts, 18 rebs (one off of his career high)
kg - 23 and 15 (but he does that against everyone)
against the heat, nobody really went off that huge...but wade almost had a triple double with 20, 9 and 6
carmello also almost dropped a triple doub on us with 28, 9 and 8

we really need to step it up defensivly...we're one of the weakest teams defensively.

on the plus side...we seem to have no problem putting points up on the board...last couple games we've had quite a few players in double figures.

hoffa has really impressed me out there. if he can give us 8ppg and 10rpg then im happy. anything extra is a bonus. but we need someone like him out there...someone who hussles, sets screens, rebounds and hammers people comming into the lane. he looks like a completely different player then the one that was getting minutes at the beginning of the season. before he used to look frazzled...nervous and like he didnt know what to do...now he looks confident, determined and he seems to know his role and is playing it well...if this is a sign of things to come then im really happy with his as a pick...and he's just a rookie...he's got improvments to make
