Force Rasheed Wallace and Ben Wallace into foul trouble. Don't slack off defensively, otherwise the Pistons guards will have a field day attacking the rim. Play for the full 48 minutes and don't let up. Offensively get everyone involved early, more so Eddie Jones. Miami have struggled when Jones has shot the ball badly. When he comes to play, the Heat are very tough to beat but when he doesn't turn up Miami's options are very limited. The Heat's bench needs to come in and give energy, scoring and defense. Any extra points is very important.
Detroit Pistons
get Rasheed Wallace going early in the post , feed him the ball as much as possible. Sheed is coming off a 23 and 9 performance @ Washington and will be confident at scoring on whoever is guarding him. Chauncey Billups will need to get involved offensively early on, he had 32 points against the Wizards including 6-8 from deep. The point guard match-up will be a key. attack the rim will give the Pistons more options for the Pistons big men Rasheed Wallace , Ben Wallace and Antonio Mcdyess inside. Bench points is very important, with Carlos Delfino missing and Antonio Mcdyess now back to the bench, guys like Campbell, Parker, Ham and Hunter will have to bring instant offense as well.
Game Thoughts The Pistons come into this game on a 3 game winning streak, their joint largest of the season after another close win this time at the Wizards. Pistons are now 15-12 and are slowly but surely getting back to what they were last year. There are still some obvious problems that need to be fixed but they are still managing to pull out games where they play average basketball, which is what they did at times last year. This game the Pistons go up against the Miami Heat who have won 12 straight games heading into the palace, where they have struggled over the years. The two teams have already met once this season. With the Pistons coming out on top 78-77 without Ben Wallace. Rip Hamilton hitting the game winning lay-up with over a 1 second to go. Pistons will want to make a statement and remind the Heat who the defending east and NBA champions are. The backcourts for both sides will be a big key to this game, Wade was held to 6-17 shooting in the last meeting. He will need to improve that % now that Ben Wallace is back in the line-up. We all should expect a very close game that will come down to the last 2 minutes. It will come down to who steps up and makes the big plays under pressure. Enjoy the game.
I don't see the Heat winning this one. The are so dependent on wade for offense i see tayshawn switching up to guard him. I think it will be close (again with close games) 93-90 pistons
should be a good one. i see the Pistons actually playing a full 48 minutes this time. they always seem to get up for the big games, so you can actually watch both halves tonight
You can't win games when you miss your last 13 field goals, that and Wade taking over. Miami also seems to find ways to win from behind. They are very impressive.
i've had enough of this policy of the pistons not playin a full game!!!!! 22-9 in the fourth qtr!?????!!!!!!!!!! this can't go on anymore.
this was a very good game for the heat. Dwayne wade recorded his first triple double. And the heat should gain confidence from this win that could motivate them to defeat the defending champs for the eastern confernce title. i agree allnet but you have to take into consideration the heats defense.
