Jim Jackson was recently traded to the Hornets but he did not show up to New Orleans and wants to play for another team.

What about bringing Jim back to the Heat? He will help the SF spot and be another good defender on the squad. He is familiar with the Heat and our defensive schemes since he played for us before under Riley.
Jimmy is one of those players who has always performed well with any team he has joined but has never stuck around with any team. He was a starter with the Rockets and is a solid veteran.

This is NOT a rumor.
I just thought it would be a good addition for the Heat.
The Heat could drop Beasley, Wesley, or Wang.

Any thoughts?

I think it would be great addition to our squad even though it is very un;ikely to happen. Jim Jackson is a very good player. He does not want to be a loser on the Hornets. He will probably stay with the Hornets for THIS season.

What do you think the Hornets would want in return? They would NEVEr let him just walk. Right now I am happy with Eddie Jones. I wouldn't want to break up our squad.but if we can get a reasonable good trade for us I'd do it. Thisi s an interesting idea. If we were just to sign him HEll yeah.

Beasley has some potential IMO. I wouldn't drop him. Wang Zhi Zhi is crap. This guy is utterly useless for our team.

I don't see how it would happen, unless the Heat work out a trade or the Hornets decide to buy him out. Jim Jackson still has some trade value to he wouldn't go for free. The Hornets may trade him for less than he is worth because he obviously doesn't want to play with them and they don't want to deal with him.

PErsonally I don't want Jim Jackson here. Now at least. Are team is playing great and I would not want to break this chemistry. No idea what Stan Van Gundy is doing, but w/e it is he's doing it great. Jim JAckson later possibly, but NOT now.

Who would we send for him? I think our team looks just great as it is. EJ is picking up his game and fitting in well at 3 spot. It makes me wonder tho. Jim Jackson is a really decent player but i don't know why he can't stay with one organization. Maybe he always asks for a lot of money but if i was GM, I would definitely want to have him play for me.

I heard on the 610AM PostGame show after the Heat V. Knicks game that Jim Jackson was actually at the game.
I don't know if this means anything, but I don't know why else he would be down in Miami unless he's trying to get a deal going.

I don't know what his contract situation is. He is currently on the roster for the Hornets.

Maybe we can trade Wesley Person and bring Jimmy back to Miami.

I know the team is playing GREAT basketball right now, but Jim Jackson brings alot to this team.

Maybe he's willing to take less money in a buyout from the Hornets if he can come play with the Heaters.

This seems very possible now because Jim Jackosn is getting older and wants a championship. Miami might be the place to come. However we would have to give up a key player not just someone like Wesley Person, he sucks

Jackson is still suspended by the Hornets, so he might very well be gone before he ever dons a New Orleans jersey. However, I doubt Jackson would want to move again. The reason he did not show up to the Hornets was because he was tired of moving around, and playing for teams he does not want to. Right now, it looks like he has a better chance of retiring than playing for Miami.

I'm not the only one that is putting the pieces together. Check the article from the Sun Sentinel. (Former Heat guard's appearance curious)

"Under NBA rules, Jackson cannot be packaged with another player by the Hornets within 60 days of the Rockets trade. However, he could be dealt alone for a package of players equal to his $2.42 million 2004-05 salary."

"Among the trade possibilities that could work would be Wesley Person and Rasual Butler, as well as Malik Allen or Butler in a package rounded out with low-end salaries."

"Additionally, one of Jackson's most productive seasons in recent years came in 2001-02 with the Heat."

I hope we don't let go of Rasual Butler, he has lots of potential. But his playing time has come down drastically the last couple of games.

I think the Rockets are crying right now after trading him, David Wesley has sucked, and I bet they miss JJ.

Anyways, he'd be a great addition to the Heat, but I don't think New Orleans has any plans of trading him, if he's suspended then he won't get paid, I think they're fine with that.
