Brief Notes:

<ul>
[*]The Sonics are fresh off an expected win over Eastern Conference cellar dwellar Atlanta. The Supes played well despite two second half ejections (Jerome James and Danny Fortson). Luke Ridnour continued to improve his shooting going 6-10 from field goal range and hitting a three to accumulate 13 points. Oh and that other guy the drafted before Ridnour...Nick Collison that's it. He had a double-double off the bench.
<ul>
[*]This will be the first ever meeting between these two teams and the Sonics get a look at the first pick in the draft Emeka Okafor. Okafor currently averages a double-double (15/11) and should present an interesting challenge for the Sonics' boys in the paint. Seattle has a considerable advantage in the backcourt so the handling of Emeka Okafor and also center Primoz Brezec should determine how close this game will be.
<ul>
[*]All-Star Watch: Rashard and Ray played pretty equally in the game versus Atlanta combining for 37 points in what was a diverse scoring affair from the Sonics players. Shard will again be matched up with a smaller forward that can take it to the bucket in Gerald Wallace while Ray Ray will be up against a young Keith Bogans who has shown some bright spots this season but should surely be outdone by Allen barring a freak switch in talent.

Okafor was picked second, you idiot.

I'm so hungover.

Good win though, a gutsy performance from the Bobcats to fight back, and it was a hard earnt win. Lewis was against the shining light with 27 points, while Vlad knocked down five triples off the bench, and Nick hit double figure scoring again. Okafor was excellent for the Cats, with 27 and 11 another step towards the All-Star game.

I nearly cried during this game. To see the beauty of Rashard's posting up and slashing to the basket was a pleasure I never expected to have. Not only that, Nick was looking more like his Kansas self than ever. I couldn't help but tear up.

Good win for the Supes. Hopefully this road trip is as successful as the one they had earlier this year. I don't think it is unrealistic for us to win out.

I know that the game on Monday is a game that one Sonic has been waiting for all year. Considering how unappreciated he's been this season, I wouldn't be surprised if Vitaly gets some much press in the next coming days.

Pot in South Beach on New Years. (Pun intended) Judging from his on-bench expressions the Ukraine Train may need a taste of South Florida to lift his spirits (while drinking them). That may be the only action he sees for a while.

quote from nba.com of the game yesterday:

"They shoot the crap out of the ball," Okafor said. "Everybody on the floor. You think you have them, they swing it and swing it and then swoosh. They have good rebounders to gather the misses. Sometimes you're like, 'Man they must have the cheat code or something.' But we hung in there."

lmao...hahah.
