He can be a one-man sideshow, but when the ball is in play there is nothing gimmicky about Thomas' game. On a team with plenty of scorers who all need the ball to be successful, Thomas earns his living in a very old-school manner. Defense and rebounding are his specialties. He can be lethal in the pick-and-roll game with Stephon Marbury when he's spotting up from 12 to 18 feet out.</div>

Kurt Thomas has been great for us. Very underrated player in this league. He is the backbone of this current New York Knickerbocker franchise. What are your thoughts about him. We've had a Sweetney, and Houston appreciation thread but, I think we owe one to Kurt Thomas as well. Because he doesn't awe the crowd with dunks or highlight reels of that nature, people seem to forget him but, let me remind you that he is one of only a few players in the NBA averaging a double double. Kurt Thomas is so valuable to us more than I had ever realized. Great work Kurt [IMG]

I remember when you wanted to trade him away for Wally... He has been great to New York but dont bother starting an appreciation thread for him. He's been around too long. It's all about what's new. You'll hardly get any responses if you started a thread for Kurt Thomas. He gets no love. Only the relatively new and more exciting guys get love: Marbury, Crawford, Ariza and so on. Noone appreciates or thanks the older guys. But that's what I love about Kurt Thomas, he goes out there does his job(double double, great defense) and doesnt worry about anything else.

Me...wanting Wally for him? What are you talking about:D I think all Knick fans were not expecting this from him. Kurt was always solid but, now it's like he's more solid than a rock. If I knew he was going to be like this I would have never even considered it. I wasn't going to make the thread for the same reasons that you mentioned. He gets no love [IMG] Atleast us Knick fans recognize how good he is.
