wow. i never knew exactly what happened to Kirilinko. I'm really excited tot hear the andrei is ok now. I didnt know his injury was so serious. gosh. I really hope he can get back to his stature that he was at before he got injured at the beginning of this season. i never knew how much of an anchor he was for the jazz until he went down. thanks for the article Stockton.
The injury was pretty severe. As much as I want to see Kirilenko back out there for us, I hope they take every percausion and make for sure they get it right. I would hate for him to rush his rehab and then hurt his knee again and be out for a longer time.
We really need Kirilenko, stats don't say everything. He makes such a presence on defense its just unbelievable. I live in Utah, so I get all of our local Jazz games. I can hardly stand watching the Jazz sometimes but they and the Lakers have always been my favorite teams, and I can tell you that we really need this guy. His 6 blocks per game is unbelievable. He only played in fourteen games and he is still in the top like 5-8 or something in total blocks this year.
"Stats don't say everything"? Depends which stats. I know this year, according to +/- stats, Kirilenko has been the Most Valuable Player for any team in the NBA. He's making his team approximately 23 points per game better with him on the floor than with him off. That's an unbelievable stat, and does actually help to tell the story of Kiri's impact on games. Just to see a great player at work, I'd love to see him back too.
