In the East the Lakers are right there with the best teams the conference has to offer.....

The Lakers 15-12 (7th seed in West if playoffs started today)

The Eastern Teams that are above .500

    Clevland 17-12
    New York 16-13
    Miami 24-7
    Indiana 15-13
    Detroit 15-13
    Orlando 15-12
    Washington 15-12

I only see Miami sticking out like a sore thumb. The Lakers could easily be a 2nd ranked team in the east right now.

Im tired of people putting down the Lakers as a lottery team when you can see clearly that they are competing just as well as any team in the East. The West is a much tougher conference right now, and thats the reason for the Lakers 7th seed. I think my Lakers are right there in the TOP 10 Teams in the NBA. Probrably around 8-9th.

    Anyone have thoughts on this?

Well, I'd just like to know something that's caught my attention...

Are the Lakers a one-man show because of Kobe?

If so, then Kobe is incredible for single-handedly putting the Lakers in the playoffs so far...with a record above .500 in the West. Some individual players can't do that...even in the East.

If not, then the Lakers are working pretty well as a team, which is shocking...since a large number of people believe that we are far from even resembling a team.

I do like how things are right now. The Lakers have actually shut alot of analysts up. If you take a look into history, in 1994-1995, the Lakers went 48-34. In 1995-1996, we had a 53-win season.

Point is...when we lost Magic and Kareem...this same thing happened to us. We were forced to change everything...and we actually suffered two seasons under .500 in the early 90's. Then, a couple more put us back on top...and after the 53-win season, we traded Vlade for Kobe and signed Shaq, and the rest is the reason why we are hated.

    Beautiful.

You haven't left home since Dec. 17 and you don't go on the road until Jan. 4, yet you're 2-3 on a six-game, 18-day homestand? Lakers, you're not ready to remain in the Top 10.

Yeah, PR's...so accurate. Just like BSPN's pre-season PR's, when Seattle was near the bottom 3.
