As a interim head coach in the 200-01 season Jim O'Brien led the Celtics for 48 games to a .500 record (24-24). During his time in Boston Jim O'Brien led the Boston Celtics to the Eastern Conference finals, and a eventual lose in six games to the New Jersey nets. Last season O'Brien abruptly left the Celtics mid way through there season after the trade of his two favorite players Eric Williams and Tony Battie.

The Sixers had also at the time lost there own coach Larry Brown at the time to the Detroit Pistons after a six game lose to the Detroit Pistons in the second round of the playoffs. They tried to have Randy Ayers as there replacement, but to no avail as he would be fired before all star break. The job would then fall to interm head coach Ford who's problems with star Allen Iverson and old school coaching style cost much controversy in a some what hopeless losing season.

Then the Sixers search lead them to home town native Jim O'Brien. JO has tryed many different lineups as head coach of the 76ers so far this season the only constant of the five starters being Allen Iverson and Andre Igoudala. We can not say that he has lived up to expectations as coach so far this year, but he is getting there. They have come off a couple close games, and nice wins lately they are only two games out of the lead in the Atlantic division

Another disappointing lose for the Philadelphia 76ers its starting to become some what disappointing watching this team they get you so excited on a three game win streak wins over the Blazers, Pacers, and Sonics then they go on a two game slide with loses to the Nuggets and Clippers what can I say. A reason we lost the game yesterday was one they where out rebounded 44-37 and they where also horrible from three point range yet again, but still attempted 15 three point field goal attempts. They shot 33% last game before that against the Denver Nuggets they shot 29% and attempted 17 three point field goal attempts in three last tqo loses there averaging 31% shooting from beyond the arc. In the three wins before that they shot in the Portland Trail Blazers game 43 % from the arc, in the Indiana Pacers game 41% , in the Seattle SuperSonic game they shot 30 %, but luckily for them the Sonics shot 24 % that game so lets look at the streak 30%, 29%, and 31% during that time they have attempted a total of 42 three point field goal attempts which evens out to 14 three point field goal attempts a game during the last three games live by the three die by the three and the 76ers have been dying lately to say the least.

Now for the player player break down from last nights performance start off with Allen Iverson great game yet he had four turnovers he shot 16-30 from the field, but then again it was against less than average defense against a normally third string point guard who was starting due to injury. He did however continue a impressive rebounding performance that he has continued to have game after game as of late. Hopefully it will continue because it adds another demention to his game and provides us with even one more weapon to use against the other team. One thing that Iverson has been struggling with these last two games his free throws 2-5 against the Clippers 5-10 against the Nuggets 7-15 total during these two loses under 50% shooting from the line from Iverson something has to be wrong.

Willie Green played a total of 14 minutes last night 0-3 from the field zero points, zero assists, and two rebounds was his final stats in the three major categories for a guard he also had no steals, turnovers, or free throw attempts. Green has been looking really bad to me these last to loses averaging three points a game and his minutes are slowly being taken away from him I think JO is probably starting to lose confidence in him maybe. I am not sure, but that is how it looks like to me at this stage. I hope I am wrong, but I would not mind seeing Green benched right now he has not raised eyebrows as a starter. he just gives us another inconsistent scorer in our lineup great just what we need.

Andre Igoudala five rebounds, 1-6 shooting two points, and four turnovers enough said not nearly enough sadly. He has been one of the more consistent players for the 76ers this season and one of the more consistent rookies. He ranks near the top of the league in steals yet had a total of zero steals in the game against the Clippers. He did however have five rebound which was probably his only bright side of the night I think what we need right now is some veteran leadership in the lineup outside of AI. I think we should move Iggy to the the two guard spot and give Mckie some time at the three he did not play in the 76ers lose against the Clippers due to coaches choice, but who knows some leadership on his part would be something we need on the floor.

Kenny, Kenny, Kenny what are we going to do with you. He attempted a season high of free throw attempts shooting 8-9 from the line yet he shot 30% from the field. It is not even as if he was facing a incredibly taller more athletic power forward in Elton Brand he was facing a guy who was his size. He finished with 14 points and 6 rebounds not bad, but his field goal percentage really made me question his ability to perform well still on the offensive end at least as well as he did last season for us. He is not injured, but he is not playing at the same level as last season for some reason.

The whole 76ers roster seems to be disappointing during these last two games they go on a win streak then just relax lean back as if its ok that there still under .500 I thought they would thrive to get to .500 at least consider they where so close had beat some really good teams this is the best chance they have at getting a win since they have been on this road trip they better not blow it honestly. Please don't blow it!

    * Please for the love of god hold on to the ball. The team ranks 9th in the National Basketball Association in turnovers per game they average a total of 16.10 . If they could cut that down they average 8.30 steals per game so lets say they cut that down to 13 a game which would and should be possible they would be able to actually take advantage of there steals per game.

    * We also average 24 fouls a game which puts us at 6th in the league this gives our opponents a lot fo easy points from the stripe that is something we can not continue to allow if we are going to be successful so please Philly cut down your hacks and stupid fouls out of frustration this game it is one of the main things we need to do to win.

Not having a very good first season as head coach of this young Golden State team he has point guard questions to deal with, constant babbling from the one the only the great future all star Mike Dunleavy ( joking there in case you didnt ge tit). I do not know if he will be Warriors head coach after this season, but he really was not given all the peaces he needs this season to make a successful team and orginization out of the Warriors.

He ha sbeen able to coach them to some nice wins as of late though so they are a team that poses some what of a threat to the 76ers. I wont take anything away from them they have a team that can pull out a up set, but as a some what contending eastern team the 76ers have to get wins from these games.

    Jason Richardson-PPG 20.8 RPG 6.30 APG 3.4
    Derek Fisher-PPG 10.2 RPG 2.10 APG 4.2

Clifford Robinson is a very solid veteran he will give you decent numbers every game. He is still more solid than most veterans in the NBA these days his age. He will put up a challenge with his veteran moves for SD which may give the Warriors the advantage in that area of the game though if the 76ers play like I think they will I think we will see Marc Jackson in this game more than SD will play due to the way SD has been performing as of late and that Marc will do better because he has been in the league longer against Robinson as well as being a former Warrior he knows these players tenancies and habits.

Troy Murphy a walking double double he is a great player at power forward and I think his presence in this game will give the Warriors a advantage in the front court. The Warriors and Derek Fisher have to be smart though don't settle for jumpers dish the ball inside as much as you can this game exploit their 76ers weakness. Thats what they need to do to win. Also crash the boards the 76ers are a average rebounding team box them out and you will probably out rebound the Sixers easily.

Mike Dunleavy IMO sorry if I'm wrong Warrior fans, but he thinks to much of himself how are you going to say after a lose to the Clippers its obvious which team was better coached when you your self did not have a great game? He is a good scorer, but that is pretty much all he gives you I think he will have a lot of turnovers this game with Iggy putting the pressure on him.

Jason Richardson will have some great dunks this game he is going to probably be getting to the basket a lot on a under sized Willie Green his jumper is not the greatest in the world he is best when trying to get inside. Anytime a player averages 20 points a game he is a big threat to any team. This should be good to see how he performs this game.

Derek Fisher is probably having the worst season of his career he is shooting horribly from three point range and in fg precentage in general. I think this is due to the fact that he does not have Shaq inside drawing double teams and giving him the open shot like he use to in Los Angeles. He will probably not get any breaks in this game with AI guarding him. AI gambles a lot though so he may get some points off of that at times. In this game I think he will probably end up with average Fish numbers, but lower FG percentage if that is possible

    * The key for the Warriors is to get off to a quick lead early in the game the 76ers do not play well at all when there playing from behind they waiste all there energy on mini come backs and never take the lead which costs them at the end they just do not have that great of depth to play from behind all game.

    * Force turnovers like said before the 76ers average 16 turnovers a game if you put pressure on them they will turn the ball over its not even a question its a proclamation. AI just makes some bad choices with his passes when he is under pressure at times and that usually costs the team.

First I would just like to wish good luck to Warrior fans may it be a good game. I think the 76ers need to win this game and get off to a early lead so my prediction as soon as the tip goes up they start the game on a 7-0 run. The Warriors make several runs and cut the lead down to two by half time, and tie it in the third, but never take the lead final score for this game imo 98-90 Sixers win.

Nice preview Pure Skills. This game should be won no matter what circumstances occur. Of course we can't take the Warriors for granted, because when that happens a team may end up suprising you. The Warriors are a team that can have nice touch from the perimeter so we are going to have to contest every shot. I want to see the Sixers shut some people down. I notice too often that average NBBA players have huge games against us. If we want to win on the road then we can't give oppnets big scoring nights.

Hopefully this game can turn-around the 2 game slide the Sixers have been threw the last few games. Of course defense will be the key, and we are going to need to step up on the offensive end as well. Korver won't be playing from what I heard, because of the death of a relative. I'm not 100% sure so don't be suprised if he is playing anyway.

I love those jerseys! I think we should have beaten them more because they didn't even have J-rich.

The Sixers played well this game. The Warriors who are not good to begin with were missing two players that could have made a difference J-Rich and Pietrus did not play, and both had ankle sprains. Allen Iverson carried the way scoring 21 points in the first half alone, AI finished the game with 29. The key for us winning this game was the performance from Kenny Thomas and Andre Iguodala. Both gave us 19 points apiece so that helped Allen with the scoring load. The 76ers shot the ball well shooting 50% for the game as well as shooting a solid 6-14 from three-point range. But from what I understand hitting are free throws sealed the game for us. As a team we shot 26 for 31 from the charity stripe and that?s good to hear.

There were some negatives to this game though, we didn?t really seem to get the job done of defense and luckily for us, they couldn?t either. I expect us to play better D. The Warriors shot a blistering 51% percent from the field. Two solid players lit us up Troy Murphy had 29 while Speedy Claxton had 21. Good for us we were able to match the Warriors offensive production, but we can?t expect to do that every night, we have to want to shut teams down.

I?m also left curious with the way O?Brien handles his rotation. Against the Warriors, John Salmons made his first start of the season. Lately Willie Green has been starting, and he hasn?t been playing half bad. Against the Warriors he didn?t get a lick of playing time. You never know, Green could have broken a team rule or slacked off in practice or maybe Salmons has been working hard and he earned a spot, but I think the situation that happened against the Warriors game is ridiculous. Doing this could mess up team chemistry in the future; at least that?s what I think. Who is going to be in the JO doghouse next?
