I got tired of people dogging Duke players in the NBA so I decided to do some research. I do my fantasy basketball throush Sporting News Smallworld Basketball. I think they do the best job at giving appropriate scores on rating a player's ability. A player gets points for each category he contributes to, so you have to buy well rounded players with a salary cap. I don't like Yahoo, because there you just get players who are good at 1 or 2 categories. Anyway, here are the rankings by college that I assembles: Pts 1pt Rbs 1.5 Assists 2 Steals 2.5 Blocks 2.5 Turnovers -1 FG missed -.5 FT Misses -1 Duke TSNP/Game Elton Brand 36.6 Carlos Boozer 34.9 Corey Maggette 30.3 Grant Hill 29.4 Luol Deng 22.2 Mike Dunleavy Jr. 22.2 Shane Battier 18.5 Christian Laettner 15 Chris Duhon 14.8 Dahntay Jones 6.1 TOTAL 230 Kentucky Antoine Walker 33.8 Nazr Mohammed 28.7 Jamaal Magloire 25.7 Tayshaun Prince 25.7 Derek Anderson 21.3 Ron Mercer 17.2 Keith Bogans 16.8 Tony Delk 16.6 Scott Padgett 7.5 Walter McCarty 6.9 Erik Daniels 2.6 Jamal Mashburn 0 Mark Pope 0 TOTAL 202.8 Arizona Richard Jefferson 36.1 Gilbert Arenas 34.4 Mike Bibby 32.1 Damon Stoudamire 23.8 Andre Iguodala 23.5 Jason Terry 21.4 Loren Woods 15.1 Luke Wallton 5.4 TOTAL 191.8 Connecticut Emeka Okafor 33.3 Ray Allen 33.1 Richard Hamilton 28.1 Donyell Marshall 23.5 Caron Butler 22.6 Cliff Robinson 17.7 Ben Gordon 15.5 Jake Voskuhl 8.4 Kevin Ollie 4.5 TOTAL 186.7 North Carolina Antwan Jamison 34.1 Rasheed Wallace 28.3 Vince Carter 26.8 Jeff McInnis 26.2 Brendan Haywood 24.8 Jerry Stackhouse 20.5 George Lynch 14.8 Scott Williams 4.9 TOTAL 180.4
Stupid THis is the worst thread ive ever seen on this site. You using a formula to determine which college produces the best players. Didnt you learn anything from the BCS formulas and sports dont mix. Second off the formula itself's point distibution is stupid. THird of course duke has the most points you graded more of their players. And when people dog DUke players for being busts they are reffering to incidints like Laetnerr or Hurley great guys that never performed well in the pros they arent saying every duke player sux.
You forgot Michigan they have some of the best too. Top of my mind Jamal Crawford Glenn Rice Chris Webber Juwan Howard ....
Kansas University also sent a few: N. Collison D. Gooden K. Hinrich R. LaFrentz G. Ostertag P. Pierce S. Pollard J. Vaughn Wilt Chamberlain also came from Kansas University

Tell that to the thousands of people who use that distribution to play fantsay basketball. You can't honestly tell me that NBA.com's player rater is better. They give equal distribution for points, borads, assists, steals, blocks. Are you telling me it's easier to get a an assist than rebound? If so, why do we only have 1 guy in the league who averages over 10 assists, when there are 12 that average over 10 boards. Second of all, Kentucky was the college that has the most players in the NBA with 13. Duke has 10. Just because players reach their full capability in college like Laetner and Hurley doesn't mean they suck. Yet, I hear so much more about them than someone like Boozer who has gotten better since leaving college.
Kansas was actually next: Kansas Paul Pierce 35.5 Kirk Hinrich 32 Drew Gooden 31.9 Raef Lafrentz 26.5 Scott Pollard 22.1 Nick Collison 9.9 Jacque Vaughn 8.6 Greg Ostertag 8.1 TOTAL 174.6 Georgia Tech Stephon Marbury 37.1 Chris Bosh 25.2 Matt Harpring 22.7 Travis Best 14.4 Kennny Anderson 13.6 Jon Barry 10.9 Jason Collier 9 TOTAL 132.9 UCLA Baron Davis 33.1 Reggie Miller 25.3 Earl Watson 19.9 Dan Gadzuric 19.3 Jason Kapono 12.1 Trevor Ariza 10.1 Matt Barnes 7.4 Jerome Moiso 5.3 TOTAL 132.5 I want to try to use the formula to figure out what foreign country has done the best with players in the NBA. My guess is Serbia Montanegro followed by Slovenia.
