The Kings(17-9)host the Spurs(23-6)at Arco Arena sunday night for the first game for 2005 for Sacramento

San Antoino is number one in the Southwest Division of the Western Confernce, and Is one of the elite NBA teams, and with Tim Duncan at the helm, the Spurs have been incredible peroid.

No offense to the Kings, but i believe the Spurs will take this game.we will do alright with scoring, but i think the Spurs will tear up our defense and get the win.sorry about this, but I'm just telling it like it is.I'll root for the Kings to win,and i hope we can get a win,but i just don't see this happening. :-o

To me, the story of this game will be the pace at which it is played. If it is a run and gun kind of game, I think that the Kings might be able to pull it out (provided their bench steps up and plays well in the absense of Bobby Jackson). However, if the Spurs are able to slow this game down and force the Kings to play halfcourt defense all game, then the Spurs will be able to take this one.

Being biased, I'll take the Kings by 4.

Very nice win tonight.Having not seen the game and judging from the boxscore id say the Spurs didnt play very well. They shot below 40% from the field ,and actually got outrebounded by the Kings  .Does anyone know if this win was due to SA not playing well or the Kings playing really well? The final score indicates that the game was being played at the Spurs pace.Either way its really good to see the Kings beat the best team in the L after seeing them struggle their past few games.Hope they keep it up [IMG] ...

The most surprising aspect of this victory...

San Antonio is perhaps the best team in the league, their bench is impeccable and is solid in every facet of the game. Yet somehow Sacramento, who struggles to play defense to begin with, sticks around in a relatively low scoring contest. They contain an opposing all-star power foward, something they've struggled with in recent times. But most impressive, The Kings match San Antonio's bench, even without Bobby Jackson who's nearly all of their production as a reserve.

Great Effort, Great Heart, GREAT Win. Defeating The Best Team in the league without such a huge part of your offense, like Bobby Jackson, is quite the feat. These are the types of victories that teams build their seasons on. Knowing your capable of defeating the best in your conference gives you a certain swagger, allowing players to perform with increased confidence, thus taking them to that infamous "next level". I only see good things coming out of this victory...

Boy that was an ugly game from the Spurs, free-throws is what did them in. Shooting just 50% (9-18). shooting 4-18 from three was also a deciding factor. Another rare bad shooting night from Duncan, all reasons for the lost.

agreed. Im sure pop will talk to his guys about there shooting discrepencies.

Also i know pop will be on his team again about how they have to clamop teams down with there defense and continue to clamp down the whole game. So situations as this wont happen.

hopefully the spurs will have all there kinks worked out come playoff time.

I Was suprised that the Kings won against the Spurs last night. For certain i was thinking that the Spurs would be a bit much for the Kings to handle, but i have underestimated the Kings abillities to win and play well against better teams.

It was a good effort by the Spurs, though
