Tony Massenburg is still clearly unhappy with his role played in Sacramento last season, buried deep down Rick Adelman's bench. T-Mass averaged just two points and 1.5 rebounds in 22 games, with 10 DNPs during his annual stint, in 03-04 with The Kings. As he made his return Sunday night, He was booed when he entered the game during the second period, he played just one minute.

Massenburg, known around the league as a career journeyman forward, provided the Kings with valuable bench minutes when Webber was rehabilitating a knee injury. However, when Webber returned late in the season, Kings coach Rick Adelman sat Massenburg in favor of Divac, Webber, Songaila, and Miller. Than again, who can blame him? Coach Adelman maintains, than and now, Massenburg was a career deep-bench player, and was left off the playoff roster for a reason.

"I'd have been happier about things if we were winning, but at the end, we weren't winning. And not being put on the playoff roster, that was like being executed without being taken to court for a trial." Tony claimed.

Massenburg would go on to boast how the Kings still struggle on defense and don't have a deep bench. Perhaps a soothing retreat from reality, as Massenburg plays a quite similar role in San Antonio, averaging just 6.8 minutes per night and producing 2 points a game. The saga continues for the 37 year old veteran as he battles to earn that elusive playoff roster spot on his 14th NBA team. Not a bad career for a 43rd overall draft selection, not bad at all...

well.. lets see... at least 13 different teams since 91...
obviously such a go to guy that everyone just had to share his stellar playmaking ability with the rest of the leage?

I cant help but feel that he is just frustrated that he has never really found a system that he fits into well & now he is speaking out on that with the last team to release him being the Kings & that is why they are getting the blame from him.
