I feel that the Raptors don't have a leader to motivate and strengthen the team. Usually leadership comes from a veteran, and I feel that though Donyell is a great team player, I don't feel he is a true leader. Jalen has the experience to lead, however he needs to play harder defense and lead by example. If he doesn't lead by example, he really can't be a leader. Zo doesn't really exist for the Raptors, if he did though, he seems like he would be a good leader for us. The rest of our players seem too young and don't have true leadership skills. I think Skip has potential to be a good leader, but not yet. I'm not sure if there are any players that we should try to sign or trade for to help bring our team together. Any thoughts? Rodmans avaliable lol.(I think his influence would ruin this team for the next couple years)
The team hasn't really had a leader for a while. VC was never a leader. Jalen's a leader, but I doubt he will have a good attitude now that he's coming off the bench. The way it is right now, Sam Mitchell is the team's leader. I guess they do need a player to put some energy in the locker room.

Edit: JYD was more of a on the court leader, he lead by example of hustle. Davis just wanted to win, and didn't like people who wouldn't play hard.
AD had some ups as a leader, but leaders don't give up on their team, no matter how they suffer and JVD was more like a player-cheerleader type of guy. i think the only true leader we have is alvin. u can say that he doesn't talk much but he motivates the team with his work ethic, on court plays, and off court issues like community services. another i have great respect for is the Oak man, coz he was the only one who dares to challenge vince, but then our ex-gm gave up on him bcoz he challenged vince too much. now we know who had the last laugh. hopefully with our currenty roaster, e.williams could be the leader of our team since i have heard a lot of positive about him with his ex-teams.

Shaq like JYD in leadership? Is that a joke? Shaq is definately a leader, he "commands the troops" when he's on the team. Shaq is definately a player who is a leader. Wade isn't a leader in terms of being vocal and setting the tone for teammates etc, he just plays the game. Every team needs a leader, you have to have your coach lead, but also their has to be a player who steps in and takes that role. Someone who can be a mentor, and a guy to just rally guys when things are down, and just uplift the team. Who knows where it'll come from, Bosh can be that guy, maybe, but he doesn't seem to much like the type, but right now we're fine.

Yeah, probably. No, seriously. Shaq couldn't have made it this far if he didn't act as a leader at some point.

If the man signs a contract in T.O, you should understand that your expected to play out your contract. <div class="quote_poster">Quoting BoShSaNiTy:</div><div class="quote_post">damn i never see shaq talkin and i always see wade talkin i dont know maybe im just out of it.</div> First off, anyone in the league respects Shaq. He's big, and when he talks everyone listens, including the media. I remember the other day he was telling his teammates that they have to step up, because every other team were playing their best to beat the Heat. Haslem said that Shaq has really boosted his conifidence and Shaq would give him the confidence to take open shots. But the Heat not only have Shaq as a off the court leader, Wade is an emotional, hard-working, give it all you got Leader.
well you guys are prolly rite bout shaq being a leader but in the raps case their will be some vets open to sign in the off season.....Ray Allen has shown interest in coming to T.O if seatlle doesent re-sign him and i think thats what the raps are planning to do well their is your leader....someone has gotta step up for the rest of this season tho.
Jalen can be a great leader..but for some reason he hasnt stepped up and taken on that role. That can be attributed to: -his demotion to the bench -uncertain future with the Raptors But he needs to suck it up and step up, be a professional because his team needs some leadership. I can see Eric Williams or Donyell stepping up to do it.
lol...i personally would LOVE to see Bosh with multi-coloured hair it shows flair and uniqueness and can also intimidate a lot of ppl however...i wouldnt recommend for him to do it now because he's still a youngster in the nba and hasnt earned enough respect or recognition to pull off something like that. Maybe in a couple of years though.. Also, i would say that our 3 choices for a definite leader would be rafer, edubb, and jalen
