Now I expected Bowen to own Kobe on the defensive end but not on the offensive end. He did both tonight. L.A looked far worse than I expected. Atkins, Mihm, Brown, Butler are all out of their depth and shouldn't be logging big minutes. The Laker offense is very bad, which has many factors but at the end of the day It comes down to poor coaching as much as It does poor players.

Meh, their's no embarassment in losing to the Spurs, even one of the top teams shouldn't really be embarassed to lose to the Spurs, so the Lakers just being one of the pack really shouldn't.

The biggest surprise in this game was the Lakers getting beat by Bruce Bowen, definately didn't see that coming lol

At least Slava scored 16 point right, I mean even though it really didn't matter, he still was 8-10.

Wow, let's just give Bowen the MVP right now for shutting down Kobe.

I have a question. Let's switch these two guys. That's right...Bowen to the Lakers, and Kobe to the Spurs. Kobe would burn him with the ball, and stop him defensively...reason is because it would be one-on-one, Kobe wouldn't have to worry about a single player other than Bowen because Manu and Parker would be doing their thing.

One-on-one...Bowen doesn't stand a chance. Let's not make him out to be that great of a player.

I love it. This thread is long again!!!! Lakers must have lost. Everytime we lose, tons of posts. Everytime we win it gets about two pages long. Unreal. Good win for the SPURs, but bowen didn't shut down Kobe. one player shut him down? In your dreams@!

This one was actually long because their was a lot of pre and ingame talk going on, the post-game messages would all equal about one page.

Also, Easy Real Deal, easy [IMG]

Yeah, I'm still bitter about the baiting earlier before the game...and then losing this badly didn't help.

u didn;t miss much..scrubs from both teams played with ~8 minutes left in the 4th. Medvedenko impressed me though..he might have gotten himself a ticket out of the doghouse. But wats up with luke walton?

[IMG] No one is comparing the two, you are overreacting. Bowen outplayed Kobe on both ends of the floor last night, Kobe did a poor job defensively and offensively. He played right in the Spurs hands trying to settle for rushed jump shots and pulling up on the break. Overall he struggled but most guards do against the Spurs.

Kobe is a great one on one player but that means so little in the NBA, maybe It's something to be proud off in streetball but not in this league. Last night was a prefect example of why the Spurs are successful, attack, draw the defense and kick out. Every player is so unselfish and are all willing to make the extra pass. Something L.A never seem willing to do.

You may say the Chris Mihm trade was a good one but you sure could of used Gary Payton last night who looked pretty good running the point when he came to the SBC center last week.

It's funny how things work. In the preview it said Lakeshow want revenge, but it seems totally opposite of that. Getting blown out... not saying it's a bad thing to lose to the Spurs but the Lakers fans seemed so high on their team. That's also not a bad thing, but I just found it funny how everything the Lakers fans said before the game started saying Kobe will get 40+ just backfired.... Sorry if this sounds insulting, I'm not meaning it to be...

Yes, for 1 game Bowen outplayed Kobe on both ends of the floor. Just 1 game though, he can't do it every game they play. But Realdeal you gotta take it like a man, Bowen this game was the better player. Just this one game...

So can I say it's funny that there was a 20-straight wins thread for the Heat, but they got beat by the Sonics? That's not a bad thing to lose to the Sonics, but Heat fans just seem so high on their team...which isn't a bad thing, either.

Not meaning for this to sound insulting.

Sorry, but I can actually back up my team... which you can't at all. This year what's the Lakers longest winstreak, please inform me. Is it near 14 games in arow? Did they go 14-1 in December???

I personnaly think it's okay to be high on my favourite team when they win 14 games in a row... but to be high on the Lakers right now isn't as easy.

Give me 1 good reason not to be high on the Heat, the best team in the East.... please buddy

The Heat are best in the East because the rest of the east is pathetic right now. SOME HIGH YOU HAVE........LOL. Look at the records in the east. There is your answer. The Heat are 6-6 against Western Conference opponents. .500 is not bad agains the West, but nothing to cheer over.

The Laker fans here have alot to cheer about. Everyone put down the Lakers as a Lottery team this year. They have an excellent chance at a playoff spot, EVEN IN THE TOUGH WILD WILD WEST!!!

I'll have a good reason, maybe more, after 82 games have been played...buddy.

I love those "fans" that would never be seen bragging about their records to the Laker fans on a message board anytime before this year...in fact, from 1995-2003...the year before Shaq and Kobe, all the way until everyone left. Then, suddenly, everyone's pounding their chest like they're hard or something.

Whaaah! Shaq Fu. There's only one champion...and every other team are on the losing end. Second place means first losers...so if you want to talk about being high on a team, I don't believe the Lakers will go past the second round. The only teams I see coasting through their season right now are the Suns, Sonics and Spurs.

Aside from that, we shouldn't talk or even care about the Heat. We won't see you guys in the playoffs this season, and there's a chance no West team will. Nobody in LA cares.

lol, the thing about those 20-straight win threads were, the Heat had two games that they would have to worry about. The Suns and the Sonics, which have great team records.

They did lose, but damn... how close was it!

2 points, behind... Damon Jones has 3 free throw attempts.... he is a career 70% free throw shooter, and this year is shooting 86.8% from the stripe.

So if Miami beats Phoenix, you can definitely say that the 20 win streak was highly possible.

The spurs owned the Lakers as expected. They are almost unbeatable at home.

Lottery team? Since when did "everyone" put the Lakers as a lottery team, the majority of people said the Lakers wouldn't be as good as some Laker fans thought, which was somehting like a top 4 team in the East, but most people had them as a low playoff seed.

Weren't they not beaten at home for a large amount of games till the Sonics beat them?
