From the greatest point guard to play the game, Magic Johnson:

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">This is the happiest Seattle team I've seen in years. These guys know they can win every night. They're happy to play every night. Now the locker room is better. And everything is better because he (Ridnour) brings that idea that if you run and you get open I'm going to give it to you. Whereas before if you run and got open you still didn't see the ball</div>

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">In this league, we need point guards who distribute the ball and can make everybody else better. That's what Ridnour is doing. You don't change from winning 37 games like they did last year to playing like this overnight. Now (coach) Nate McMillan has someone he can say, 'Go out there and run the offense.'</div>

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">They're definitely for real. They're deeper. Now there's no going down when a star like Ray Allen goes out of the game. Before, if Allen was out of the game, they'd probably get outscored 12-0 or something. And I believe the key is Luke Ridnour.</div>

Yes, finally my man Ridnour gets the props he deserves. He is a upcoming role-playing PG like a Mike Bibby or something. Thanks Magic!

    What he actually meant:

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">This is the happiest Seattle team I've seen in years. These guys know they can win every night. They're happy to play every night except that cat Flip who ain't getting court time anyway. Now the locker room is better. And everything is better because he (Ridnour, not Flip) brings that idea that if you run and you get open I'm going to give it to you. Whereas before if you run and got open you still didn't see the ball, because Flip was running the break.</div>

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">In this league, we need point guards who distribute the ball and can make everybody else better. That's what Flip is not doing. You don't change from winning 37 games like they did last year to playing like this overnight. Now (coach) Nate McMillan has someone he can say, 'Go out there and run the offense.'</div>

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">They're definitely for real. They're deeper... 9-deep. Now there's no going down when a star like Ray Allen goes out of the game (for Antonio Daniels). Before, if Allen was out of the game, they'd probably get outscored 12-0 or something. And I believe the key is Luke Ridnour, not you know who.</div>

so you mean it is more of a team effort now with there depth and not neccersarily all because of ridnour.

Considering the first version of the story it seemed as if magic was praising luke more than it really seems now witht he second version of the story. Either way Seattle is executing there game to the fullest.

And i think ridnour's push has helped, because fastbreaks lead to easy points for any team period.

It's a very long season, fam.

Believe me when I tell you that #22 will not be buried on the bench for long. Even if its in another uniform.

Come playoff time when teams prepare for only one team for weeks at a time you are going to need someone that can create his own offense. There isn't a better player on this roster that can do that.

Read the sig. That's what Flip lives by. How many other players could be able to bounce back this often?

Since this is a Ridnour thread I'd like to mention that I think that he has actually made more contributions on the defensive end than he has offensively. He isn't turning the ball over on offense and occasionally he gets into the lane and creates for others but most of his contributions offensively is in transition (which really doesn't happen that often) and just being the guy who reverses the ball to an open shooter. His assists are not due to him controlling the ball and forcing other people to help off of his penetration. He's often the beneficiary of Lewis' double teams in the post.

His defense is what has impressed me the most b/c last year he was getting punished by even the weaker point guards (see Mark Jackson). This year he is staying in front of guys (not named Gary Payton), staying out of foul trouble, and picking up full court so that the other teams have real difficulty getting into their offensive sets quickly.

He's progressing nicely but no way is he the catalyst for our 23-6 record. That distinction goes to Danny Fortson.

Ridnour Has always been my hero, i remember watching him play vs. Arizona Down at the pitt in Oregon, future all star. He is THE man and the only thing i wish he could have done is that he could have played or could play for Portland.

Ridnour is one of the best PG's in the NBA he has helped the Sonics every game and i hope that he stays with the Sonics for a very long time. It is about time that he is getting the recognition that he deserves and coming from Magic Johnson you know that it means something. I would play with Luke Ridnour any day of the week.
