Kings guard Bobby Jackson is expected to miss the rest of the regular season after undergoing surgery Monday to repair a torn ligament in his left wrist.

Two pins were placed in Jackson's bone to stabilize the ligament, which was injured early in the season. He hasn't played since aggravating the injury last month during a game against Washington.

Jackson, the Kings' top reserve and the NBA's best sixth man in 2003, averaged 12.3 points, 3.4 rebounds and 2.2 assists in 23 games this season -- but this is his third straight campaign with a major injury.

This not only hurts the Kings but also hurts Bjax's chance to get a big contract when he becomes a free-agent next summer. Most teams who would be willing to give him a starting spot could be scared off due to his injury troubles.

Injuries always plague this team, I don't see them getting very far this year. Their bench production has fallen off since last year, and now with their man guy off of the bench done for the season, a lot more weight is put on Mike Bibby and Doug Christie.

I Hope your wrong about this Matt. [IMG]

This is something we DON'T Need now.we were already at a loss of depth in the bench, and now we will have to come up with some long term solutions to keep things going for the Kings now.Martin and a few others have been great stepping up to the plate, but can they keep it up?? [IMG]

I Hope we come through great in this tragedy.i'm hoping things will be alright.

cant really say that. this team has shown over the past few years that it doesnt matter what key injury they have going on, they just play through it & wind up being in good shape at the end of the season. I cant see this being any different. yes jackson brings a lot to the team, but it is after all a team, not a one man show. some people are going to have to step up (specifically bench & role players). if that happens the kings should be in good shape.

From what I understand, and according to stories in Sac Bee and Sacramento's offical website, Jackson's successful surgery will place him in a cast for 2 months, than to be immediately followed by 2 months of gradual rehabilitation. So it's looking like a June return for Bobby J. if all goes well, but don't expect him back any sooner...

Jackson's injury will affect the Kings in the long run. Although some players are stepping up well in his presence right now, they might drop off as the season wears on. It's time now for the Kings to bring in a free agent. How about Liu Wei who was with them during preseason? He knows the system and could do well in limited minutes.

How about No Wei. That guy was brutal. If they need to find someone for limited minutes there are plenty of free agent guards out there. Even consider bringing back Ricky Minard, I didn't think that he was that bad.

Liu Wei isn't that bad of a player, but i'm not too sure he will be what we need.we actually might want to consider a trade at this point.something needs to be done for sure, but i guess we will see how the Maloofs and Petrie feel about someone trying to keep up the pace we have been going at,and will continue to keep going at??

According to that ESPN article, it says that Jackson may be able to return in April. If that is the case, (providing the kings play well in the rest of the season and gets a high playoff seed) then if Jackson returns in April, that could actually help their chance of winning a title.

I had no idea. Whoa this is terrible for Sacremento. I feel sorry for Sacremento fans. Luckkily he doesn't have as big of a role for the Kings to severly struggle from this. It's not like what happened to Antonio McDyess in preseason [IMG]. Good luck in dealing with the loss.

This could hurt the Kings in a pretty big way. They're already at a loss for depth and this could hurt them even more now.

MAURICE EVANS.Those that dont know will learn the name and face soon enough.Didnt the kings have the best record in the league a couple times later in the season last year without Webber? Losing Webber is worse than losing Jackson,no way to argue that.Evans is for the most part getting Bobby's minutes and so far hes fit in perfectly. The big concern i think is being healthy for the playoffs, something they have yet to achieve as a serious team.

I gotta say, Evans did look good out there tonight. If he can get a few more ppg and still bring that type of energy off the bench combined with the fact that he has the best vertical game of anyone on the Kings this year we could conceivably pick right up without being in too much of a bind.

Evans has looked impressive so far.Evans i think can fill in well in lieu of Jackson's place on the team.I'd like to see more oppturnities for Evans in this capacity.if Evans can keep playing the way he has been playing so far,and do this till playoff time, than i wouldn't be worried at all about the state of the Kings.

Does anyone feel me on this??
