I have not seen a thread here so, I deceided to make a little discussion thread. I am pleased to see we made one of our staple runs in the 3rd however, we did not win the game. Marbury again was the catalyst in the run. I am also pleased to see how he improved his defense. The game really should have been ours. We were at home and we had the mommentum. Just some silly plays by who other than Tim Thomas gave Sacremento an an advantage. Also why didn't Lenny foul? I have to bounce now but, I will touch up more tommorow .
That game was...I dont know. It ruined my night that's all I know for sure. TT messed us up in the clutch. He has to be our most unclutch player. I dont know how he missed that layup since he was not fouled. That miss of course resulted in a dunk by wotshisface. Then there was Nazr's play...I have no words to describe how angry I was. It was just one of those...things...that drive me crazy. But we really lost this game during the second quarter. The Kings bench is very thin and that's where we should have beaten them. But somehow our second unit got outplayed. Actually when I think about it...I think their first unit was still in the game. Which would explain why we fell apart. Wilkens should have kept our starters in for as long as the Kings kept their starters in. That way our second unit would have at the very least kept the game close. Instead we ended up being down by double digits trying to get back into the game. We were able to get back into it. Down the stretch everyone stepped it up. Except TT of course. But we couldnt get enough stops. When we did get a stop we wasted the posession on the other end of the court. Kurt Thomas getting into foul trouble early on didnt help either and Penny did practically nothing. Bruno Sundov got the call and he did nothing as well. We may have been short handed with Sweetney out but the Kings were short handed as well. This is a tough loss as we didnt play too badly excluding the second quarter. But there are some good things to take out of this loss. Actually...there isnt anything to take out of this game that is good. Except perhaps Houston's play. Just this morning in the papers they were whining about Houston's inability to move around and get open or do anything else. Tonight I believe he quieted some of the doubters. I'm not sure if I would have rather have the win. On the other hand if Houston has his confidence back and all we need to do is run a few plays for him early on...he'll be playing well for the rest of the season(maybe wishful thinking, but give me a break I'm reaching here). That makes tonight's loss worth it doesnt it? I dont know it was depressing. We probably should have gone with Vin Baker instead of Bruno since we didnt even run the pick and roll with him. That's my take on the game. It was a heart breaking loss. The only bright spot was Houston's play which will be very important come playoff time. A win against Miami tomorrow will definetely cheer me up though.
