Nice preview Trip. I just felt sorry that the Rockets loss. We could have won this game if we just prevent the Suns from making a lot of 3's. They made more than 40% of their 3 point shots. If we were just able to make at least 40% too, that would be a different story. We had lots of open looks but misfired. The Rockets did their best in defending the Sun's starting five but they forgot to take Casey Jacobsen and Stephen Hunter seriously.

I know most of us in this forum are hoping the Rockets could at least won this game. They are well rested, have momentum compared to the Suns who played the night before. Below 40% field goal shooting is what killed the Rockets. The Rockets are one of those teams that do get a lot of open shots from the perimeter and the 3 point lane due to Yao and TMac attracting the defense. Sad to say most of the time they just missed especially when it counts most or during a sudden run. There's no doubt Phoenix and Seattle are run and gun type teams. Though the Rockets may not match their speed and athleticism they do share their number of open looks, clutch baskets and easy shots. A team field goal percentage of at least 45% would win us games . During a sudden shift in momentum favoring the Rockets especially when the lead was down between 3 to 5 they should make a wise decision of taking the best possible shot instead of running down the floor in fastbreak then take a quick 3 point shot without any rebounder in the paint. There's still a lot of time in the third and a whole 4th quarter to go during the time they cut down the lead to three. Suddenly the momentum stops there and the Sun's lead was back to a dozen.

Anyway it was not such a bad game after all for the Rockets. I hope they can rebound back against the Lakers and the Nuggets.

Yao hardly got any possessions in the first half and vamp gundy kept benching him.

How was the Suns defense? Were they good and actually forcing bad shots, or were the Rockets just missing easy shots? If Phoenix actually played defense like last night (by their standards), it was pretty good for a team who thinks defense is spelt with a 'b'.

The Suns defense wasn't that great, and I think they'd agree. They did a good job bothering T-Macs shot and doubling Yao, but the Rockets had ample opportunitiese to get back and just missed a lot of wide-open shots. Ultimately, its Suns offense that won the game for them not their defense.

If Rockets fans can take anything positive out of this game, they're offense was executed well but they just didn't finish off plays by hitting the shots. I don't now if they could get the same execution against a San Antonio or Detroit, of course. Still, when you're at home and well rested and when the road team has played the night before, you should win. Maybe if we didn't give up so many 3 pointers in the half-court sets, we would have done better.

Horrible defensive strategy by Van Gundy. He literally let the other team have at least five open three's each quarter. And, I mean wide open, no one was even defending them. Sometimes, it just doesn't go your way, and I think last night was a great example of that. The shots just kept going in and out. However, some players out there didn't look like their mind were in the game. Taylor and Wesley were examples of this. They were having horrible shot selection and just didn't seem they were doing that much for Houston. In addition to that, McGrady had a terribly off night- completely horrible shooting. You'd think he wouldn't attempt any more near the perimeter jumpers when he's missed the majority of them, but yet, still keeps trying. However, I think he figured out what his job was at the end when he became more aggressive and started driving into the lane more. After the first half, I really thought they could have won the game in overtime, but they really started to fall apart in the second half.

Big disappointment. I was banking on a win for our team and we didn't do it. Seriously, I didn' watch the game but according to you guys, the Suns had a lot of open threes. You don't do that to a team that is one of the best in the league in three point shooting. Sura's performance was a big disappointment after his best game of the season against Utah. Can't say I was pleased with Yao either. McGrady had to carry us yet again, but this was one of his off-nights.
