<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">December started with Lakers rookie Sasha Vujacic stashed on the injured list and included just four minutes of garbage time in 12 games. But the month hardly could have ended with better news for the Slovenian guard.
Before the Lakers commenced their final practice of 2004 on Friday morning, coach Rudy Tomjanovich pulled aside Vujacic and said he would try to find the first-round pick more minutes in the coming weeks.

"I said his opportunities are coming and to give me the benefit of the doubt," Tomjanovich said. "I'll look for those times when he can get stirred into the soup."

Added Kobe Bryant: 'The only way for him to really learn is just to be thrown out there with the lions anyway. We all have patience, no matter how well he plays or how bad he plays or whatever. But it'll be good for him to get out there and get his feet wet a little bit." </div>

Good? Bad? I'm still waiting for the Lakers to give Bobbitt a chance. They need a defensive minded PG on the floor to disrupt other teams from getting into a rhythm and preventing dribble penetration. Chucky Atkins is a stiff on defense, Tierre Brown is a CBA All Star, but an NBA scrub, and Sasha is simply not ready to make an impact for the Lakers this season.

    You mean Tierre? [IMG]

Bobbitt > every point guard we have right now, and it's because of his defense. Sasha can come out and back up Kobe, but if we're talking the point, I'd rather see Bobbitt out there before anyone else. That's our biggest problem...defending the point and having a PG with playmaking skills.

^^ Edited .. just goes to show how much I detest the guy, I didn't even get his name right. But with the initials TB we can come up with all kinds of creative nicknames for Tierre Brown ...

Man, I'm so desperate of our point guard situation that I'd try out anyone of those players that we have on our bench.

I agree. Sasha's got what it takes, the shooting touch, foot speed and passing skills of a true PG. What caught my eye was his height, too. Listed at what -- 6'7"? That makes him as big as Kobe, gives him great court vision, and would make him better at defending smaller PG's. Coach Rudy's got to give Sasha playing time for him to blossom. Coach Rudy played Sam Cassell and Robert Horry, if I remember correctly, when both were rookies, and the Rockets won their first crown. He's not a Phil Jackson who prefers veterans all the time. Please, Coach, play Sasha more minutes.
