Yep, I agree. It's very good to see this happening. If the entire league did this, wow...it would be incredible. You're talking about 90 PPG per team, and if each team did one game this way, that's $2,700,000 right there. Since this is in the Laker forum, I'm not only proud of everyone, but especially Kobe, for getting involved. Just another attempt to clear things up in his life.

^ isn't the donation by Schumacher $13 mil total? Yeah, he makes 90 mil so what? Would you really give up 1/9 portion of your annual income for donation? That's huge amount of money right there, I think even Donald Trump would hesitate giving up $10 million.
Great to hear. I donated $100 to the Red Cross to help out the Tsumami Victims myself. They are less than a four hour flight from where I stay.

It's nice they are donating thousands of dollars, but I wonder if its the right thing to make a game out of it. I mean, should they let what happens during the course of a basketball game dictate whether they donate $20,000 or $40,000? That other $20,000 could do a lot for all the homeless women and children over there. Again, what they're doing is obviously much better than not giving anything at all and I don't want to sound too cynical, but it seems to me that they should just pledge whatever they can afford independent of what they score in a basketball game. I guess they get more publicity doing it this way, which helps the players and the league as a whole, and maybe additionally could result in more donations from fans as well.

I know it is a very sad event but I think people need to stop look at people and asking did you donate or that isn't enough because the world has aided and given more money to these areas than they have ever seen. They towns that were destroyed and the lifes are now all going to be rebuilt to 1000 times better than they were before is it good yes of course it raises living conditions for everyone, but I think the world has aided this disaster and now we need to get rebuilding and stop collecting. I am not saying the 6 billion pledged is not enough make up for the 150,000 lifes lost because human life is worth everything and no amount of money can make up for it, but it comes a time when you have to stop filling the car with gas and start driving it....the time to start rebuilding is now.
