Sorry, I can't post the article I read since it's in Hebrew, but it's official: The EuroLeague champions, Maccabi Tel-Aviv, will play the Toronto Raptors in Toronto, October 2005. This should be an interesting match, but Maccabi will probably lose. Their BEST PLAYER, Anthony Parker, would be a good 6TH MAN in the NBA, like he was with Philly. Same with Maceo Baston, when he played in Toronto. Sarunas Jasikevicius is another good player, but also wouldn't be a star in the NBA. I think this should be a pretty easy friendly for Toronto. Your thoughts?
Why do we have to always play these types of teams? Is it because we are the only Canadian/international team in the league? I don't like the fact of playing teams with nothing to lose and everything to gain. Example: TEAMS NOT IN THE NBA. What is next? Playing the Detroit Shock of the WNBA?

But it always seems that these teams play one team every year namely......The Raptors. I don't understand this and maybe you can explain it to me.
I don't understand either, why can't they play the Pistons or the Mavericks or something, maybe even the Bobcats, but it seems to always be the Raptors. The Grizzlies went and played Gasol's team, but the Raptors have a team every year lol

May 08- Maccabi Tel Aviv won Tau and took the 2nd time european championsip sequentially!!!!!!!! Maccabi- 90 (Israel) TAU- 78 (Spain) Maccabi's team: Coach- Pini Gershon (Israel) (STAR) A.Coach- Jacob Gino (Israel) Captian- Gur Shelef (Israel) Deon Thomas (U.S.A) Yaniv Green (Israel) Nikola Vujcic (Croatia) (STAR) Maceo Baston (U.S.A) (STAR) Omri Caspy (Israel) Nestoras Kommatos (Greece) Yotam Halperin (Israel) Tal Burstein (Israel) Assaf Dotan (Israel) Derrik Sharp (U.S.A) (STAR) Regev Fanan (Israel) Sarunas Jasikevicius (Lithuania) (Super STAR) Anthony Parker (U.S.A) http://www.Maccabi.co.il/english Every one knows that europe is yellow! -Maccabi or Die-
well, other teans ply, it's jsut tat they travel to other countries(like China) instead of the team's coming to them. I think tis great that we play them(although a good point is raised in why its just the raptors), but atleast we don't tire out our players and let the other team come to us
I think its great to see raptors play an international team, especially like macabbi tel aviv. I love Macabbi and I believe playing them will ultimately determine how we do during the season.

First of all, Maccabi weren't unbeaten last season. They lost to Rishon-Lezion in the Israeli Premier League, and to Barcelona, Scavolini Pesaro, Zalgiris, and Union Olimpija Ljubljana in the EuroLeague. Second, I wouldn't exaclty name Derrick Sharp and Nikolo Vujcic "stars". More like role players. Sharp is a dependable 6th man, and Jujcic is a solid center, but neither is a star. Baston isn't a "star either". He was just an athletic compliment to Parker(who, amazingly, you didn't rank as a star) and Saras. He's a terrible free throw shooter, a terrible rebounder(only 5.8 per game, in the ISRAELI LEAGUE) and at best an average defender. All he can give is some flashy dunks and a little inside scoring. Bosh can destroy him in his sleep. Let's compare the rosters: Maccabi Tel-Aviv Projected Starting 5: C: Nikola Vujcic PF: Maceo Baston SF: Anthony Parker SG: Tal Burnstein PG: Will Solomon Gur Shelf, the teams veteran leader for the last few season, is gone. Saras, the team's best player in his short stay in Maccabi, is gone. Now, let's see Toronto: Toronto Raptors Projected Starting 5: C: ??? PF: Chris Bosh SF: Charlie Villanueva/Joe Graham/Matt Bonner SG: Jalen Rose PG: Rafer Alston Advantage: C: ??? PF: Toronto, Bosh will destroy Baston SF: Maccabi, Parker is more talented than any of Toronto's young small forwards(right now) SG: Toronto by far again PG: Toronto(not by far, Solomon is talented, but Alston is still better) I just don't see Maccabi winning this game, or the Euroleague. And this season, the Israeli League will be closer than any time in the last 3 seasons.
