<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The Knicks and Timberwolves have had talks recently, centering around a trade of Kurt Thomas for Wally Szczerbiak. The NY Daily News reports that Minnesota is reluctant agree to the deal. The teams have been trying to get Toronto involved as a third club in a deal for Szczerbiak. If the Knicks acquired Szczerbiak, they likely would have to make another deal for a power forward, unless they are confident that Michael Sweetney and Vin Baker can adequately replace Kurt Thomas. </div> Read All Man, I know we really need a center, but Wally has been so good for the Wolves this year. He has been their second best player obviously behind Garnett. I would be all for keeping Wally and sending Sprewell back. Thomas would really help us, but Wally has been way too valuable for us this year. What about some Knicks fans? What do you think?
I read about this in the Daily News today myself. Wally's been on the Knicks radar since he came into the L, no matter who was running the Knicks. Why? Who knows, before this year he was hurt all the time and was too inconsistent. Anyways, with Kurt Thomas being the only player Isiah has with some value right now, his name always comes up in some trade rumor. But this is probably just an internal idea caused by the panic of losing Crawford. I mean, where is Szczerbiak going to play when Crawford comes back? I really don't see this deal happening, at least before the trade deadline anyway. Kurt Thomas isn't a true center and I don't think that Flip Saunders and Kevin McHale are that desperate. As my brother, a die-hard Knick fan just said "We already have a soft jump shooter and f--- Vin Baker". Peace.
if the wolves need a center, then why are they dealing for KT? he's practically undersized for a power forward...let alone a center. at 6'9 he'd get eaten alive in the west and what are the knicks doing trading a post defender away for another swingman!? its defense that they need more of...the knick defense has been suspect at best...no question they can put the ball in the basket...but can they stop other people from doing that? wally's certainly not going to help them with that. wierd trade...makes no sense to me. did peter vescey wite that article? lol
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting dj_premium_plus:</div><div class="quote_post">did peter vescey wite that article? lol</div> Nope, it was the Dail News' Knick beat writer Frank Isola.

I would not put him at the C spot. He will get not do too well in the east too. Kurt Thomas will be able to help any team out. The Wolves could possibly put KG at C and Thomas at the PF. I think it will make more sense for the T'Wolves than the Knicks. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"> did peter vescey wite that article? lol</div> Na but, I can understand why you would think so. That clown knows nothing about the NBA.
i dunno...these days, 6'9 isnt exactly BIG for the 4 spot. in a day and age when we've got guards bigger then him...he's certainly adaquate...especially in the east...either way, i do agree, the deal makes more sense for the wolves, but like i said...absolutely none for the knicks and yea...i figured vescey didnt write the article...i was kinda being fesicious i know he writes a lot of bunk
idk if sweetney and baker replace thomas... Thomas is in top 8 in rebounds per game... and dey dnt need nother shooter at sf wen dey alredy have houston.
Wally is the man! Whoever gets him in the end is the winner of that trade. Knicks have gotta do good this year if they pick him up... but I also wanna see the Twolves go far again this year.
Wally is not going anywhere. He is going to be a core player for years to come. He has been very productive to this team for years. Why would the Wolves gave up a core player that has a lot of value to this team?
