just a fabrication to say he's done playin "trade me or i'll suck this bad every game"...to the real Vince Carter from b4 99-00
This is nothing new. Everybody around the league and certainly within our fan base have drawn this conclusion long time ago. Hopefully he works harder andhase a good career as a Net.
I think everyone knows Vince's character by now. We should just let this go and focus on our future. No point dwelling on this guy, he is a born loser. February 22nd @ New Jersey and April 15th @ Toronto. We just circle these dates on our calendar and hope that Arajuo knocks Vince on his ass.

how can u say that?^ i hope nj finds out the characther he is and trades his ass to new orleans for draft picks, i know that once vince has made a name for himself hes just going to stop trying
Here's what Leo Rautins had to say about the comments: <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">"If someone has as much talent as (Carter), then you know if they are using it or not," Rautins told the Toronto Sun. "Sooner or later, they'll see his true colours (in New Jersey). "I'd be shocked if they didn't. He would have to have a huge change. If you can all of a sudden change it, wow, that's an indictment of what you were doing in Toronto." Rautins also accused Carter of playing his hardest outside of Toronto. "I was shocked last year when Carter went to the all-star game (in Los Angeles)," Rautins said. "He ran faster and jumped higher than I had seen in three years. What's the difference? Why there? . . . "Why wasn't he running in Toronto? Rafer Alston was pushing the ball up just like Jason Kidd. He ran for Jason Kidd, but he didn't run for Rafer Alston."</div>http://www.thestar.com/NASApp/cs/ContentSe...ol=970081562040 It'll be interesting to hear what he says about it during tonight's game.... assuming he's broadcasting of course.
Nothing new really, it's kind of the same situation with Tmac, obviously these players work, some just don't put as much work as they should. After Tmac left Toronto he got a personal trainer so he could bulk up etc, didn't go too well with that, but after he left Orlando he also got one again, and started working, and he was doing things that every player should in the off-season, and saying it's the hardest he's ever worked in his life. It happens, when you're the most athletic or most skilled, sometimes you just slack off, their are many players in the NBA right now who have done that, it's not some isolated situation, it's just that Vince is better than most of those other guys. Look at Antione Walker with all his talent, but was never in shape, and never established the strength to be a very good post player which he was capable of being with his post skill. Baron Davis is out of shape a lot, Kedrick Brown hasn't but the work he should, Eddy Curry was fat for a while, the list goes on. When you have things come easy to you, you get comfortable, Carter got comfortable. One thing about Rafer is that he runs too fast on the break, a PG shouldn't go full speed on the break if he's the fastest guy on the team because then their's going to be no one to give the ball to. Also with Leo's comparison with running with Rafer and running with Kidd, Rafer doesn't throw alley oops, I've seen Alvin Williams throw more alley oops than Rafer. Rafer is more inclined to push the ball with the dribble than to throw a long pass.
hmphf! forget him fellas, he trying to "revive" his old self. We will teach him the lesson of solidarity when we play him in april, and everyone will let him know how we feel! we dont need to reminisce on him anymore. this season that is, he is gone! so what? we have to move on. He will be remembered and i thank him for some great memories, but when u are looked up at by the nation and say screw you, basically, how does that make u all feel? i for one really dont care what he say's/thinks. Our raps will teach him a lesson on april 15th, also taxday
If you watched Sportscentre and saw John Lu talk to Dave Feschuk (SP?) of the Star, he said that Carter tends to please the interviewers by telling them what they want to hear, and usually answers with what he is being lead into. I'd have to agree, but it's no reason to not work.
I saw some of the interview and he...*SMH* if you don't want to register witht he star here is the exact same article that was posted above from the Star that dunksworth posted: http://sports.sympatico.msn.ca/Home/Conten...itemid=44715026 I have been constnatly giving Carter the benefit of the doubt, but this shows who he is. no doubt Carter is a good player, and I used to think - despite injuries - that he was a great player. To be a grea tplayer you need to be great on thecourt, and ghave great character. Carter obviously doesn't have the character, and is stupid enough to admit it on TNT, and og15, sure, players get comfortable, but Carter doesn't have that excuse, he has had two major injuries and is wearing a full lenth sleeve for his knee now. Carter was lazy, and thats it, flat out. How can a player turn on that kind of performance like a light switch(Sure there are more factors than that) but Carter is driving the whole and not setlling for those fadeaways anymore ("I'm very comfortable with my jumpshot", Yeah, Right) Somebody a while ago quoted scouts saying Jamison beingtraded for Carte ron draft night was a mistake citing work ethic. THey said jamison would become the better player. he is. If vince can still maintain his superstar(huh?!) status, than in 2008(if Toronto gets the AS) I hope we greet him with plenty of boos. April 15th sounds even better. oh yea, he deserved to get plowed by curry [End Rant]
in 2008, if we get the allstar game, Bosh will completely posterize carter in the allstart game (even though its only and allstargame), and boos, i also hope we knock the nets out of the playoffs when we make it
pfff...haters. hes not perfect but he did so much and nobody can fault him for that. show some respect
How are we being haters, it's the truth, Vince didn't do all he could, he was too lazy, and to comfortable with just being good and not striving to be great. One problem with Vince is also being too "nice", he wants to please everyone and wants to be everyone's friend that he takes away from what he has to accomplish himself, what can you do though?
ya... the kenny smith and charles barkley was saying that hes being too nice to everyone and now hes hungry to win so he wanted to be traded and now hes doing alot better and realived
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting MaxaMillion711:</div><div class="quote_post">pfff...haters. hes not perfect but he did so much and nobody can fault him for that. show some respect</div>I don't see how it's expected for any Raptor fan to show Carter respect after the statements he has made. When a player signs for max dollars, all that is expected from him is that he play his heart out and show why he's worth the money. Carter couldn't even do that. I mean, if he didn't want to put all the effort into it, then he shouldn't have signed the max contract that was offered to him. The fact that he did and assumed the role of a franchise player, yet he couldn't at least put in the effort, that's the reason why it's hard for anyone to respect the guy. And to make matters worse, he promises that only NOW, after he's been traded from the Raps, will he give it his all and play his heart out. Where was all this intensity when he was a Raptor? He was criticized for years now for lacking heart, effort, competitiveness, and for being a softy..... why only now is he making strides to change his ways? Ahh, I'm done ranting. I should just be glad we got rid of his @ss.
