I'm getting extremely annoyed watching Sura keep shooting 3 pointers. He is not a good 3 point shooter and never has been. I don't understand why he keeps shooting. If he ever catches the ball with all that space, he should just drive then pull-up or kick out. Everytime he is open on the peremeter i am afraid that he is going to shoot the ball. Sura should watch how Dwayne Wade rarely takes 3 point shots. There's no reason to take the shot if you can't shoot above ....19%??
but if you have space, and your feelin it, you should shoot, "you miss 100% of the shots you dont take"-Wayne Gretzky
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting DerfZ:</div><div class="quote_post">but if you have space, and your feelin it, you should shoot, "you miss 100% of the shots you dont take"-Wayne Gretzky</div> true true. hety man let sura shoot he does a whole lot of other things for your team that you might nowt see. he always go out and gives 100 percent hustle giveing your rockets rebounds, assists, defense, and points. i say let him shoot everyonce in a while. off-topic. i think the rockets might be learning how to use yao to his full potential the pick and rolls they ran last nite with yao were incredibe.
well he shoots 3's because most of the time he catches the ball he's wide open. Where you say? At the 3 ball line. This is just the truth man...if you play basketball you don't pass up an open 3-pointer....well 90% of the time you won't. You just shoot the damn ball...even if you're off, just shoot it anyway.
Just to let you know, his shooting percentage this year is .319%. Not great, but at least its decent. But like everyone said above, if you have an open shot, you take it. Plus, look at it this way, as you shoot more and more three pointers, your shot should be more and more effective. Its basically like practicing. If you miss one, well, your bound to make one- so if you have the open shot, just take it. Thats what Bob Suras doing, which I really don't think is killing our team. Those are actually smart shots, smarter than some of the shots McGrady, Howard, and Taylor keep attempting anyways. Bob Sura is doing his job, so you can't hate him just because he misses a few three pointers. He dishes out assists, grabs a lot of rebounds for a guard, and knows how to penetrate into the basket. I mean, I actually think he's one of our more effective and consistent players.
No. Sura is at 19% from three. That is way below his career average of 31.9%, and only 8 out of 42. He needs to pass on the open shot sometimes if he knows he won't hit anyways. What Sura should do is fake and then drive, or pass it off to the open teammate who will then make the shot.
19% is almost equal to a turnover. Basically, 4/5 times he catches the ball at the 3 point line, he turns the ball over. That is ridiculous. If he can't shoot, he should take it inside. Even if youre wide open, there's no point to take the shot if you can't make it. Most people are open from 1/2 court, is that a smart shot to take? An open shot doens't equal an easy shot, especially if you don't have the talent. Somebody said that he is practicing 3's and will get better, Sura is already 31 i think. He has had 10 years of practice. Some people simply dont' have the talent to shoot the 3 ball no matter how much they practice. Sura should realize this by now, and find other ways to score (like Richard Hamilton).

Anybody who has an open look at 1/2 court, shouldn't take the shot, cause he'll probably miss it Sura from 3 point shouldn't take the shot cause he'll probably miss it. I also don't think it's a matter of them just not falling. If you watch Peja shoot, he always misses short or long. Sura, on the other hand, misses all over the place, too long, to short, too left, too right. This indicates that he's just not a great shooter, so does his 19% shooting.
