I looked that he finaly get some minutes after few months of training. Had whole 9 minutes of play, more then in all games before, 2 points (FG 1/3), 2 rebounds, and 1 Bloked shoot. I just whanted to ask you guys, how did he look? Has he gained some weigth and strength! Give a quick preview! PLZ!
Well Biedrins was given a matchup that put him in a big disadvantage. He was given the assignment to guard a player that didn't really help Biedrins, since the guy who he was guarding was such a good shooter and Biedrins is still finding his way around the court, so of course he was slow at getting to the shooter, which let Bonner get a lot of easy threes, which is his specialty. So in that way he looked bad. But I mean he did OK for what it's worth. I guess he's gotten to 7 feet now and he does look bigger. I don't know why you'd want him to grow this much then put him on the guy who he was assigned to guard, but you can't blame Biedrins for that. Offensivly he is always working to seal his man which is good. And yeah, that's all I can say about offense because the whole offense as a team was terrible, so it was hard to judge. And rebounding he usually boxes out the wrong man, or another person's man, which leaves his man open for a rebound. I don't think it's a huge problem, but something he has to learn, in that maybe it would be better for the team if he just tried boxing his man out, instead of the opponent closest to the basket. This was a very difficult game to judge anything. Also on offense, he might have to work on a quicker release or something, because he got to the rim but it took a little too long for him to get the ball in the hoop, which let the defense come back and reject it from behind, which is not good. But these are all minor things.

Bonner is big man who is excelent shooter, but he has not met many of those in Europe, so thats why was struguling. Sounds like he has beacame slower. He was runing the field very well before NBA... let's just hope that he will keep up with hard work. I know he will!
GSW's Future(If They Can Hold Onto Them) = Combination of Dunleavy, J-Rich, Murphy, and just maybe Pietrus
I like Biedrens, and Pietrus because they are very defensive minded and aggressive. But our most talented players rely on guys that aren't so hot defensively. The team's got to coordinate together and put a body on somebody so they can crash the boards. Foyle is a pretty bad rebounder, so we need Biedrens ready by next year hopefully. They say Biedrens was an excellent rebounder, shotblocker and he had hops, so hopefully he'll be all he was talked up to be. I'm pretty stoked about seeing him in a few years be a solid starter, especially because we have so few.

With the amount of calories he's burning just with practice and it's going to be very difficult to put on muscle & strength. I predict he'll go on a 5000 calorie diet, put on 15 pounds of muscle and work on his game, then we'll be able to see how he compares next year. Now he's like a puppy against the wolves.

I read interview with him in local sport jurnal, and he said he is definetly progresing and he is in best sahpe ever. He said that he has gotten stronger a lot, and team mates in pratice said that it is getting harder to play against him. + I hope that Robinson trade will not happen because he is his mentor #1. Biedrins just was not very happy about Montgomery not giving any play time. He knew that he will not get a lot of playtime, but ~20min in whole this season is does not rise motivation to keep up with hard work. I think that his afraid that he is becoming in Darko#2, but still he says that GSW is the only team he would like to play in, because that he has good relationships with Mullin. He still is working like workaholic and he understands that he is not ready yet. It is just confusing that GSW traded in Charkapa, and now they have too much big men in team and he does not have a chance now to get on roster now. Still he is first on the pratice working in weigth room, and last to leve it by working on his moves on court, so maybe it is better that he can think now about pratices only.
If Biedrens is all he's cracked up to be and plays remotely like his idols, Tim Duncan and Kevin Garnett, that means Murphy's gone. Biedrens is laterally quick enough to play some small forward, but he's meant to be a true power forward, not so much as a center I believe. But who knows. I would like to see a 7 footer that can rebound, shotblock, score around the basket, and protect the weakside better than Murphy. Don't get me wrong I like Murphy, but there are plays where he cannot do anything to challenge players going baseline. Not quick enough or known as a shotblocker. I guess also Murphy's just tired with the minutes he's getting. He doesn't even have a real backup outside of Cliffy.
One more thing, did anyone see some of the highlights from the Warriors game on the news? How come Foyle was out on the perimeter? He's supposed to be inside guarding the basket. I know our perimeter defenders are crap, but he needs to be protecting the lane and not the top of the key. Oh well, props to him for his 7 blocks. Wow. Also the guy I was hoping we'd get this year, Chris Mihm, his dunk was sick. I tell you athletic, shotblocking, flashy dunking centers are awesome from a fan's point of view.

The only times he played completely out on the perimeter is when he was matched up with Odom and Odom had the ball. He was camping in the lane most of the rest of the time. In general, I thought he looked great on both ends. Although, he needs to do that nightly to earn that paycheck. Mihm impressed me. He had some outstanding offensive moves. But on the pregame a Laker announcer said that he was the second best defensive center in the league, under Wallace. Yeah, keep smoking crack buddy.
The Warriors for 20+ years have tried to find a Tim Duncan or some other star Center and the quest has often led to a fiasco,at the same time these high pick big men never get half the playing time they need until their contract is almost up. the GM has to get on the coach, say,I don't care whether we miss the playoffs by 4 games or 10-I want to see all our players have the game time to improve. Biedrens needs 10 min per game-Dale Davis is not the future. As to Foyle, there's a lot of Ben Wallace there and the coach needs to develop that. Robinson I like-but you can't question his rebounding when Cliff is a center averaging fewer boards than your 2 guard. Cliff can be a 3-4-5 6th man exploiting that he is a 6-10 with range and good D. A lineup with J Rich,Claxton and Pietrus could be special if the game plan was to out run and out quick the opponent. If they regress to hanging out on the 3pt arc-won't go far. Biedrens is planned to evolve into a center,at that draft slot he seemed the best bet to become a decent C
We just got to play Biedrins. Use his size to our advantage, we haven't gotten a C over 7'0 feet in 4 years. Biedrins can block, go inside and drive all the D away from Murph and dish it out to him if caught in a double team. Biedrins should be starting right now. Next year I really hope Mullin doesn't go for a 18 year-old European that Monty is going to do a Larry Brown to. Look what happened to Milicic. He was all the rage, and then he never started and only played 3 minutes a night. Biedrins was worth the pick, but if we don't use him, it'll be a waste. Same goes for Flores. He is already looking better than Fisher and should start over him while Speedy is gone. Fisher will just throw up a three and miss, but Flores actually drives and can get fouled. He's doing the same thing Speedy does and is quick as well. He could be very good with a combo of Speedy/ Flores. I could just see the defenders having such a hard time guarding them and having guys come off the bench for the sole purpose of guarding them. That would be great. We just got to get Fisher out of here. Look what he is doing for us, teaching the young guys that you can go into a fast break and shoot a three instead of penetrating. If he keeps on doing that, he should be gone. All in all, I think Cliff, DD, and Fisher are going to need to go in order for these guys to show off there skills
