what is wrong with the defense? It is the one thing we are supposed to be amazing at, like last year, and we totally suck. Teams are shooting well and if not, can easily surpass the 100 point mark against us. i think the problem is the PFs and rebounding.
OUr offense though has hit over 100 6 times in the last 12 games, what is up with this? before that, we never hit 100.

Yeah, i'm not too sure why or defence isn't performing well, but my guess is the same as yours. The Power Fowards, they don't fight for rebounds so you see the opposition get alot more Offensive boards which results in second chance points, that probably whats killing us, but like I said i'm not too sure...

While both our power forwards suck at rebounding and defense, I'd still prefer Howard because he gives more effort and at least knows when to take a shot and when not to. Taylor sometimes tends to stray from the play and tries to do everything.

On to our defense, we've let up so many points mainly because we have played good offensive teams in the past few games, and scored so many because those teams were bad defensive teams. I don't think anything's wrong with our defense, but rather our offense.

Our offense doesnt suck anymore, they are scoring real high now on, its almost like a change of strategy

I agree that part of the D problem is with the PF position. Didn't Cato play the PF spot last year, and if so was he a decent defender? Also you traded away Steve, and he is a decent defender. And who did you get back in return??? A guy who isn't much of a defensive threat, Tmac. He is not known as a defender, so this could also be part of the problem.

Cato last year provided us with rebounding and defense. While he had almost no offensive game, Cato's ability to guard players like Tim Duncan and Jermaine O'Neal, coupled with his shotblocking ability, took a lot of defensive pressure off of Yao. Now, with Cato gone, teams are capitalizing on the lack of shotblocking and penetrating. Yao is normally slow at rotating on defense and doesn't get a lot of blocked shots. It also doesn't help that Taylor and Howard are not good defenders.
