I know there is a thread about this in the Nets forum, but I want to see what people have to say about the injury. Do you think it was a "dirty play" on the part of Chauncey Billups? I am going to defend Billups and his interview, when he said that he couldn't stop. When you're running down the court full speed and trying to play defense, your adrenaline is pumping and it makes quick stopping tough. Jefferson went up strong and Billups hit him in the air, sending him in an awkward position. Billups is by no means a dirty player, so I really don't think this was intentional. Jefferson had little trouble admitting that he knew Chauncey wasn't dirty, but he thought it was a dirty play. I guess we will get some mixed feelings here, but what do you think?
it was an unfortunate incident. accidents happen all the time, RJ was just in the wrong place at the wrong time.
i really hate billups for doing that by i know he didnt mean it. i still hate him becuz jefferson is out for the season
shame on you chauncey! taking out a player like RJ for the whole season. dirty play or not he's still to blame for what happened.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting j_a_d_e:</div><div class="quote_post">the detroit are dirty players...lol...first it was artest and now it's rj..</div> wat a concidence. makes u kind of think. i wonder who will be next. no offesnse to any pistons fans
im a nets fan it looked to me like it was a accident jefferson went up and billups was running and jefferson looked at him and it looked like he thuogh he was gunna go aftter the ball or stop and he went up and he didnt stop
I honestly belive that Chauncy is deep down a angry person. Just think if your name was Chauncy, thie ridicule, the pain the anguish! LOL! Honestly the pistons are a frustrated team right now and that push was intentional because if it was unintentional he wouldve grabbed RJ instead of bridging him. The pistons are falling apart from the inside out and Players on that team are madd at eachother, so they take it out on the star players of other teams. I hope that they dont hurt Hinrich or Gordan next.
Yep Pistons sure are frustrated and falling apart, winning 14 out of 16 and 5 in a row. 8 games above 500, will be taking over as the 2nd seed very soon. My word this team has some problems Chauncey is not a dirty player and certainly didn't mean to halm him. It's just the prize you pay when you play a certain style of basketball like Jefferson does. His style is above the rim and accidents like this can happen when you attack the rim hard. At the end of the day though, Nets fans will be happy RJ is out for the season. It gives them a better chance at filling their void up front by getting a high pick in the draft.
god damnit i would b very fustrated too if i just came off a championship and im sitll making 5 million a year and have that big ass ring
i dont think billups is a dirty player but that play was dirty.. but jefferson was just frustrated that he was out whole season.
Well, that is pretty obvious dude. I don't think Billups did it out of frustration, I honestly think he couldn't slow down. He could have probably not made it as serious, but he did not intend for Jefferson to get up-ended.
