<div align="center">As u all know, at the moment we look like we're on a roll despite losing 2 dissapointing games against 2 of the Top teams in the League. The point I want to stress out is that watching the games, we all see there is potential enough to make the Playoffs, especially being the underdog for the first time in 4/5 years. </div> <div align="center"> </div> <div align="center">But are we going to realize this goal? I for one think we will. Kobe is a totally different player this season, i guess he's starting to get his mental game at the level is "game" is. Kobe has done everything possible. He tried to lead the team by distributing the ball , pulling down boards, locking down people on D. He tried Triple-doubles it hardly worked for the team in W's. He tried 40 point games. Same result. Are we all (the players , nba ,fans everyone) depending too much on him? Maybe he's not ready yet. (his mental game). I regard Kobe already as one of the greats. He has a great shooting touch (however when he's down..he can't get a shot off). He can get to the Foul line whenever he wants , which usually means autmoatic 2 points in his case. He can pass (however his TOs are WAY up, partly because of teammates not able to catch passes but mainly because he passes out of double teams . Which i think he should do BEFORE the double is there. When the double is there , he should dribble out of it, and he Can do that as we all know.. Look for SUPERKOBE after all-star break , he'll be even better and finally make those Game winners instead of rimming them mostly out (i guess he likes to keep the standings exciting to take over in the 2nd half ) (whats up with his new found hops?, it looks like he jumps higher than he did before, is it maybe trying to set a statement?) <div align="center"> </div> Our man Lamar meanwhile is sitting and waiting too much. Last few games he's been agressive, but he should be A LOT MORE agressive than he is at the moment. He doensn't play up to his potential. However after the All-star break , i'm counting on him to step up and I think he will</div> <div align="center"> </div> <div align="center">Chucky, i don't get him. He's so unpredictable, One night he'll drop 25 and 8 assists, and the other 3-18 and 3 assists . What he seriously needs to work on is his fouls. He commits at least 2 unnecessary fouls EVERY game. His Defense..i'm not even going to comment on that.</div> <div align="center"> </div> <div align="center">Chris, Props. Nothing but props, every single game he works hard trying to do everything in his hand to get us a W. He pulls down a LOT of offensive boards, Defensive I guess Lamar is the leader (didn't look up the stats) but Chris is moslty there as an intimading factor. He also needs to quit getting messed up fouls, he usually gets 3 offensive or something in a game. That hurts us a lot. On defense he's not that bad, however he needs to learn to take the offensive fouls when Center lower their shoulders. What the Lakers need to do is look for him a LOT more than they do. If u look closely and observe he works his ass off posting up, he rarely gets the ball where he wants, which is also partly due to the high pick and roll or pop with Kobe. But please just get the ball to him.</div> <div align="center"> </div> <div align="center">Jumaine/Cookie and Butler , They are just great, I seriously did not expect the Offense we're getting from Caron. He does a good job of getting inside, but also misses a lot of close shots due to the bad habit of trying to lay-in the ball in stead of dunk it when he comes from the baseline, we all know how tough it is to get a layup going if you come straight from the baseline. But overall I think he's improving a lot game 2 game. Jumaine is just a great spark for us, a sort of Fish (miss him!) He gets in gets his boards,3s makes good passes nothing but props. Maybe Rudy should try him against smaller teams as a starter. Just to see what happens. Cookie has been awesome! Hitting 3s with his oh-so-quick release but he needs to be consistent. Earlier he was hitting everything, then a few games was bricking up a new shelter and then he started to make them again! I love his shot and it gives Kobe the chance to go 1 on 1 with defenses since they can't let Cook open anymore Keep it up 43!</div> <div align="center"> Luke : I don't understand Rudy, Luke was such a good player and i expected him to log a lot more minutes this season. So far he hasn't played that much, although he ,rush and fish were mostly the reason for the comebacks in games. He is an excellent passer, pass first-shoot second guy which is very rare in the game nowadays, and has an great shot also. He was so valuable in the PO's why isn't he being used?</div> <div align="center"> Brian Grant : i expected so much more from him. He needs to refind his own self who was one of the better players on the Blazers squad. He will eventually after he heals from the injuries.</div> <div align="center"> (only fitting pic since he aint doing shit)</div><div align="center"> Vlade : please i'm not going to spill words to mr. AUW I HURT MY BACK AND LA IS SO STUPID ENOUGH TO GIVE ME MILLIONS FOR 0 PLAYING TIME! </div> <div align="center"> Slava : why isn't he getting any minutes? His D isn't nowhere where it needs to be yes, but he does have a great shooting touch from about 15 to 17 feet away. He does provide us with length. </div> <div align="center"> TIerre : he is mr Turnover. I like his drives he slashes through everyone but he doesn't come up with the passes needed! Where is Bobitt in all of this?</div> <div align="center"> Devean Get back man!!</div> <div align="center">I like the chances we have to make it to the PO. I think if we get our heads together the opportunity lies within our grasps but do we take it or turn it away. I think the 2nd round should be possible.</div> <div align="center"> ps : GET RODMAN JOIN THE GET-RODMAN-2LA-CLUB</div>
I think the lakers are going to go to the play-offs if kobe can keep scoring 40 points a night or if someone steps up
Forget Rodman. We dont need Rodman in LA. Never a good call. He is way too old to play in the NBA. Of couse the Lakers will make it to the playoffs but im afraid not as far as we got last year. This year is tough for everyone. There are so many great teams out there. Most likely we will loose in the Western Semi Finals
At this point,i do believe the Lakers will make it to the playoffs. If they want to advance further in the playoffs, you need to pick up a dominate PG. Still,if not...the Lakers are playoff bound, but will not go beyond the first round.
I see playoffs for the Lakers between 6-8, which is basically what I've thought since the season began, so nothing different.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting TheNextJordan8:</div><div class="quote_post">Not if we shoot 30 3's a night.</div> LOL!! That is funny, and absolutely correct. The Lakers just show they are lazy when they shoot that many 3's. There is no reason a zone defense should cripple our offense so badly. The Lakers are just plain lazy. Even when they are hitting a barage of 3's I feel they are being lazy. How hard is it to sit on the perimeter and bomb away 3's. We are not a team full of Ray Allens. If we were by all means fire away. After all he is shooting 48% from the arc. LAKERS STOP BEING LAZY!! DRIVE TO THE BASKET!!! GET TO THE FREE-THROW LINE!!! PLEASE PLAY WITH MORE INTENSITY!!
Lakers need to play on the road with the same passion and intensity as they do at home. I still believe they'll make the playoffs, but with Houston and Memphis playing good ball, it's gonna be tough
