What's up with the damn Lebron Bandwagoners? The guy averages 24 ppg 7 apg and 6 rpg and you guys are calling him the next Jordan? STOP. KG averages 24 ppg 6apg and 14rpg, why aren't you calling him the next Jordan? Because he isn't playing the guard position? It's just stupid to call Lebron the next Jordan. He has similarities but he's never gonna be Jordan. No one is no one will be. Do you see anyone saying Allen Iverson is gonna be the next " "? NO. Reason? Because there has never been anyone like him for them to compare him too. Please refrain from saying anyones gonna be the next Jordan. Just say he's gonna be the greatest guard of all time. All im saying is that don't use stats to compare someone to someone else.
Are you Joking? To answer youre questions no one is calling KG the next jordan becuse he is first of all a PF hence nothing like Jordan. Iverson is being called the next anything becuase save Kobe there has never been as selfish of a player as Iverson. Also its not merely the stats that people compare it the love for the game, the smile they both always play with, the high flying dunks, the ability to make their teammates better, the nike contracts ... the list goes on and on. Obviously hes not an exact copy of Jordan so dont expect him to be but as for the comparisons he is definetly the closest player to Jordan we have ever and probably will ever see.

This Year : 25/7/7 (19yrs old) and his team is 21-12 #2 in the east and MVP canidate (so far) i don't understand why people are hating on him , it is true he isn't the next jordan(and their never will be) and he has repeatedly stated that the comparisons are nice but he wants to be the next "Lebron".. but the man is getting it done on all facets of the game.Everything has improved and he still has more to improve on and at this pace he's going to average a triple double (imagine him in his prime its going to be real scary)
Iverson has just as much "Love for the game as Kobe if not more". And to say Kobe has never been as selfish as Iverson is stupid.. Iverson never had the surrounding players Kobe had. Iverson was basically a one man team for most of the time he spent with the 76ers and was most of the team's offence. And if you think kobe isnt selfish you should watch his games. Kobe hardly passes unless theres no way for him to score. He would rather try to hit a fadeaway over 3 defenders rather than pass to an open man, Thats what I call selfish. Kobe does not make his teammates better so don't even give that bull. The only way it could be said that kobe is the closing player to jordan is because of his style of play which is similiar to Jordan's but thats because Kobe as you know what rider and try's to imitate jordan anyway he can.
Why can't people accept there WILL be someone who will put up crazy numbers like Jordan did someday? It could be in 2 years, it could be in 20 years, there WILL be someone who will be better than him. Who knows if some of us will be alive when it happens?
Ummmm, I thought this thread was about bandwagoners? Seems more like an anti-Lebron thread. Honestly it happens everywhere. Just look at Vince Carter fans claiming that the Raptors were their favourite team until he got traded. Now they are suddenly Nets fans? It's a fact of life in Professional sports, get over it. Quite honestly I think Lebron is a very very very special player. One that comes to the NBA every decade or so. Dude is 19 and he is killing cats. Watch his games and you can just tell that he's special.
LeBron does get much attention and hype. No one here can front. He has been doing his thing so I will not say anything. There will never be another Jordan. I thought that was already established. Whatever, I guess we will have to wait and see.

Allen Iverson was actually called the next Jordan when he was younger, unless you weren't watching ball then, but yes he drew comparisons, but at 29 years old, he's the next no one right now, he's Iverson, that's all. I also don't like people always saying next Jordan, but he draws a lot of comparison's, but the way he plays really isn't the same at all. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Iverson has just as much "Love for the game as Kobe if not more". Hey as long as he keeps putting up these numbers the new Lebron bandwagoners are fine with me as long as they recognize the O.G fans. Yeah there should be no Kobe bashing here he gets enough of it outside of Lebron threads. This thread is about Lebron band wagoners not AI, and Kobe bashing and what not.
I wasnt really trying to bash Kobe or Lebron but I think its to early in Lebrons career to be calling him the next jordan/magic or any other Hall of Famer.
Man I have never called no player the next MJ. I don't really like saying that kinda ish either cause I believe a player is just himself. Like I don't really like it when I look like so many different ppl who all look different btw. But yeah, Lebron is just Lebron. And he's not the one over hyping himself. He handles himself alot better then well almost a 100% better then any other player.
My bad I haven't read this post since I posted it yesterday so here's my reply. Most of the people on these forums use stats as a way to compare players. I hate that, because in that case KG is the greatest player of all time. Probably next to Wilt Chamberlain. If you wanna talk about playing style, then Kobe does play like Jordan that's cause he chooses to. He tries so hard to act like Jordan, it's not even funny. I saw this clip of Kobe drilling some shot and he is trying to run backwards like jordan does and he starts sticking his tongue out like Jordan and he trips. I had a good laugh over that cause I knew hes fake. Also about the bandwagoning, I meant to say that ya Lebron is good and all that even though he doesn't play like Jordan. I see no similarities at all. Lebron couldn't hit a jump shot from 18 feet out if his life depended on it. All I see is that Lebron can dunk and that's about it. I might be wrong about him being not being similiar to Jordan but that's just based on what I've seen. He has no fadeway, he barely is starting to get better at shooting but I seriously don't see anything with Lebron that makes you say "damn hes the next Jordan". Except maybe his crazy ass dunks. Anyway, how can you call AI selfish. PLEASE TELL ME. The guy is a natural born shooter / leader / whatever. You can't tell the guy not to shoot, not to drive to the hole. Obviously he's gonna be doing that shit alot since he doesn't have a good supporting cast. Have you seen AI play at all this year? No. The guy is trying to get his teammates involded so much it's making the Sixers LOSE. After all this stuff I typed, I still don't know how you guys compare Lebron or Kobe to Jordan? Is it stats wise or is it playing wise? Either way your screwed. Lebron plays nothing like Jordan, and Kobe is too much of a fake to be Jordan. I live in LA and I try to watch some of the games the Lakers play. I've seen about 10 and the guy is behind the ARC and the guy is all up on him and he tries to rise up like Jordan and drill the shot. He cuts the lane and tries to dish out while drawing attention like Jordan. The guy is mimicking Jordan. End of story. Now I can't say no one tries to be like another basketball player cause I drive and do everything like AI because I like the style of play he has. I don't try to copy him just to BE LIKE HIM. I try to copy him and use some of his moves / style that will fit my style and will make me a better player. But straight up Kobe is a FAKER and Lebron is on another dimension when it comes to comparisons to Kobe.
One reason why Lebron is being called the next Jordan is because he is a 2nd year player and he is already dominating the League. He has turned his team from losers to playoff contenders and i like there chances in the playoffs. He can shoot, dunk over the power houses of the nba and be a leader of a team. He is a mvp candidate.

If you're young you probably dont know that Jordan had no jumpshot his first few years in the nba. The only reason his FG% was high was from all the dunks and layups. Seriously though Lebron is the leagues #1 prospect for the future considering he's only 19 or 20 years old. Even now, with him so young he's one of the top 10 players probably. Lebron deserves fans, and he deserves to be praised, so everyone keep it up. About the VC fans being bandwagoneers. As a Rap fan I made a remark about being a Net fan now cause Vince went over. vince was my favorite player, as he was to alot of people, so when he left you want to still like him, and the Nets trio was very attractive to fans i think. Anyways, end of the day I stayed a Raps fan, and have no covered my like for VC with a smoky screen of bitterness. Jordan's first year stats (21 years old) 28.2 ppg 6.5 rebounds 5.8 assists .510 FG% Lebrons 2nd year stats (20 years old) 24.4 ppg 6.9 rebounds 7.2 assists .493 FG% This is with Lebron a full year younger, without the benefit of college play to give him more competition to allow him to grow as a player. Also Jordan's team was 27-55 that year with him being the only option so his stats might be higher than they actually might of been on a team like the Cavs, with a few other pretty decent players. No one's going to average 37 points per game again, no one, even if Lebron was a better player he wouldnt, because the game has changed and the level of players has changed with it. That being said i think Lebron could be the best player in the league in 2 years. to the person that made this thread....do you not see any similarities? Same position and versitility, same style of play, same numbers, same media draw, same endorsements, same dunking skills.

Other stuff are about right, but not same dunking skills, just both good dunkers/high flyers.

Jordan played SG true, but he also moved over to SF on occasion and even PF every now and then. One game, i think vs. Jersey he played starting PF and ended up with like 19 rebounds. Style of play? Why not, early Jordan ran the court, Lebron runs the court. Early Jordan iso'd and beat his man on the dribble...thats how Lebron gets allot of his points. They also both post up smaller players on occasion. Both are excellent at crashing the boards and both use the attention they get, in tandem with their unselfish play and passing skills to set up wide open shooters off the penetration. If i'm wrong i'm wrong, but i'd like you to tell me how they're different.

What it means is that LeBron will thoroughly dominate the league at the wing position in a way that is reminiscent of Jordan. Jordan was unquestionably the greatest player of his generation. LeBron also has the potential to be undeniably the greatest. As far as style of play, Kobe or McGrady are closer to Jordan at his prime (89-93) than LeBron. And Dwayne Wade plays more like the younger, high-flying Jordan (84-88) than any other player in the league, IMO.
