I know. It sounds crazy, but what if?

What if there are 12, maybe even 15, genuine faithful followers of the Hornets out there somewhere, clad in their special gold, huddled together in dark rooms, poking pins in George Shinn dolls, whispering Baron Davis stat lines to each other like litanies, and giggling with delight at the prospect, dare they say it, of a three-game win streak?

Creepy, right? But if such a sorry lot exists, shouldn't we throw them a bone? Isn't that the only right and proper thing to do?

I'm not saying we join them, or even get close. (Like a magazine-insert cologne, there'd be no shaking their stank.) I'm just saying, if they're out there, and if they're hell-bent on loving these losers, we ought to tell them how to do it right.

It's either that, or do for them what Chief did for McMurtry once upon a time.

Here now, a guide to rooting for a truly terrible team:</div>

What's good Hornets fans? I know N.O. is not all that good but, you guys have to be there during the struggle. Trust me I kno0w all about being a bad team. The Knicks were 30-52 about 3 years ago and 37-45 two years ago and only 39-43 last year. I know it may not be as bad but, you guys are luckier. Your team is not well under the cap and unable to sign decent free agents. Be a Hornets fan 24/7, 365. [IMG]
Hre is something I found on ESPN.com it is how to successfully ruote for a team in its dark ages.

The Cavs and Nuggets thought so too. I bet you now that season was not too bad after all.

very nice article mrj18, and also very nice thoughts to go along with the article.

I think it will be interesting to see if any free agents look New Orleans way this off season. I mean with Baron Davis' plagued career of injuries and the absolute neccesity that the New Orleans offense has for B Diddy.

I am also anticipating N.O.'s off-season to find out whether or not they will depart with there Superstar.
