Some help is on the immediate horizon: Ron Mercer, who underwent Nov. 15 knee surgery, is running on a treadmill and could return at month's end</div> New York Post The Nets can use all of the help they can get with Jefferson gone. Jackson obviously will not remain a Hornet for much longer so there are a couple of teams that will try and go after him. If NJ can get him I think they might just might sneak into it as an 8th seed. With Kidd distributing, and Carter as a decoy, Jackson will have more of a chance. Also with much more offensive freedom, he will be able to produce much more scoring that the Nets will need now with RJ gone. Interesting scenario though.
It is a serious and interesting situation that the nets are in. Jim Jackson would be a nice fit. I also like that that Luke Walton but it would take some push from the nets. I would have loved to have seen Kareem Rush come to the nets where the lakers traded him for a draft pick when we had a bunch to give up it would have helped right now.
The Nets should definetly go after Jimmy jackson hard. He could patch up the hole RJ's injury made, he will help or poor offense, and would really help or team especially with all the injuries. Ron Mercer is much better off the bench, behind Jackson. We also need another big man, Cliff robinson would be great, so would joe smith or donyell marshall. WE NEED TO MAKE A MOVE SOON, BEFORE THE SEASON GOES DOWN!!!
No one but, Jefferson will be able to patch up his hole. Jackson will bring some lethal outside shooting to the table however, Jefferson is more of a complete player than him. Uncle Cliffy will be very good for the Nets. A bit old, but the Nets can use some veteran leadership. I think we can all agree he is better than Collins.
if they got jim jackson it better than ron mercer. if they sign him for more years then he would be a great backup. the nets have a chance since jackson hates the hornets (who would want to be on the hornets team this year)

Just like the Nets. They didn't look too attractive but, now that Carter came, people are loving them.
JJ has game, but Kidd and him have had some bad history. Hopefully they put it behind them, whether the Nets get him or not. He'd help in a the short run, but I think right now Kidd is going to want a trade. However, Carter and RJ haven't been playing well together because their game overlap. JJ's ability to foil off good two gaurds could be useful with his defense and his composure. I also like the possiblity of Luke Walton because he's a good passer and can hit shots. He works well with our motion offesne, but his defense is not very good. If the Nets cannot find a four to play, I was wondering the possiblity of trading for Brain Cook. Cook is not a very good rebounder, but he can run the floor and hit the transition three. It'd strech out the defense and give more space for Carter and Kidd to penetrate. ALong with his range, it can be useful. The Lakers are looking for a PG so a guy like Best and Vaghn could be a guy they're looking for as a short term answer.
i forgot that jason kidd and jim jackson were on the same team when kidd was in dallas. they had some real problems and kidd got traded away. that fact changes my opnion in a way. how could i forget
I forgot so too but that was a while ago guys. Both are more mature now. Same thing with Marbury and Van Horn. Once Marbury was in NY and KVH was still here, they got along very well. I saw them laughing on the bench a couple of times together. It should be fine. At least on the court. It doesn't matter off the court.
It will be interesting to see if JJ can be added to this team. Like it has been stated before Kidd and JJ have not gotten along together in the past. Although Dallas is different in Jersey in many ways. Things could change because now it is a fact that JKidd is the man on the team and JJ would be a role player. Another issue might be the fact that JJ is main strength is his spot up shooting. With him and Vince staying outside it could weaken New Jerseys offensive sets.

Also I dont even know if JJ would want to play for a rebuilding team i think he might just want to contend for a title. These are just my opinions though. As an immediate factor if Jim Jackson were to play for the nets i dont think his value would be fully accomodated for in the nets offense until Jefferson were to return to New Jersey. I believe the nets would need more people driving to the goal and dishing to JJ before he could be fully appreciated. Also the extra strain that is now put upon kidd's shoulders to create for his team could lead to him asking to be traded. And if kidd were to go i definately dont see JJ coming to the ntes orginization.
