After a great win against the Dallas Mavericks, we attempt to go 2 games over the .500 mark, something we have not done this season. The last time these two teams met, it was a very slow and tedious match, Jim Jackson lead the scoring with 18 pts.

This should be a up and down match, it'll be an exciting one as we'll see T-Mac vs Vinsanity, but not just that, Jason Kidd will be running the floor, I can definitley see a couple of Alley Oops in this game. Tracy Mcgrady is going to have to continue with the agressiveness we've seen recently, hopefully he can have a decent game. All eyes are on Yao Ming, he HAS to have a good game, and he really should, the New Jersey backcourt is not a good one.

We've seen some glimpses that David Wesley has come close to getting his shooting touch back, hopefully it comes back this game or at least gets better. David Wesley had his best game as a rocket yesterday hitting 8-16 shots and ended with 21 points. Juwan Howard, what an amazing performance against Dallas, he shot tough shots, he made them, he fought for rebounds took some tip shots, he made them, hooks?, he made them, hopefully this will continue!

I know its a little early, but I don't know if i'm going to be on tomorrow...

With Richard Jefferson out, the Rockets should look to capatilize on Rodney Buford's lack of defense. Look for whoever Buford is on to have a good game. McGrady traditionally has good games against Carter, and with the current stretch of good games he's had, expect him to go for 40. Yao had a bad game last time around because of the constant double-teaming, but with the Nets short on big man to guard him, Yao should have a 20/10 game as well.

Is it guaranteed that McGrady will play in this game? Perhaps it would be a good idea for both McGrady and Sura to take this game off and recupurate from their injuries. Without those two, though, the Rockets would probably have a tough time beating anyone.

I would think that McGrady and Sura should play. Both these guys are key parts of the team and McGrady especially has been the one responsible for our run of success these past few games. Letting them rest and us losing the game would basically kill any momentum we had. Besides, we are playing tomorrow, which would probably give Mac and Sura ample time to rest their injuries.

Rockets will win this one easily, they need to keep giving howard the ball and van gundy should let howard play more minutes, if howard keeps shooting like that then keep giving him the ball and let him go for 50 points my predicition 101-75 , 26 point lead , it may look like im over the limit but i actually think that would be good prediction

Yeah hopefully Howard can keep shooting the lights out, can you imagine if he gets back up to 17-20 points a game? wow....

The Rockets can drop 140 on these guys. I wouldn't be suprised to see VC play McGrady on defense. But if our role players step up like they did yesterday, we should be ok. Yao shouldn't be too tired, he had a quiet 20 points, IMO. As long as we can take these guys seriously, we'll be ok.

Im confident that houstons going to win tonight. I hope we can get 110+ points again.

Juwon Howard played very well against dallas. Our pfs have gotten alot of open shots this season and they need to hit em. Hopefully Juwon can keep shooting well and contribute a good amount of points. I hope yao can dominate against whoever they have at center.

And wow another great night of basketball T-Mac vs VC followed by Lebron vs Kobe

    Anyways

    Houston wins 110-89

That was one ugly, boring game, Poor play my Mcgrady super poor play by Yao Ming, Bob Sura with a career high 35 points though, and Juwan was quite clutch...

Terrible game overall ..sura kept us in it..new jersey are bad offensively which kept us in the game..defensively they're pretty good. Sura and Howard saved us in OT.

Ugly game, but its a W.

Hopefully houston can bounce back and beat the spurs to show everyone that the rockets arent the same team from the beggining of the season.

Right at the end of the game they showed Kobe getting hurt and it was a severe sprained ankle. Sucks for Kobe but that might make it easier for houston to get that 6th spot in the west.

Not a nice game by the Rockets. Good thing New Jersey weren't able to connect most of their shots. Another subpar game by Yao. The game wouldn't have to go to OT if he were able to make his free throws.
I'm glad Sura and Howard took over when everything else wasn't falling for Yao, TMac and Wesley. We have to give credit also to the bench players who provides some spark and quality minutes.

It's not all bad news i mean at the beginning of the year if T-mac and Yao were running out of gas our supporting player wouldn't do squat

But now the rockets are beginning to play like a team because Bball is a TEAM sport and without the TEAM then you don't win games.

Bad performances by McGrady and Yao, but Sura and Howard were able to pull us away from the Nets in overtime. However, we still get two games above .500 for the first time this season. This should be the right time of the season for us to make a run for a top 5 finish in the West.

Sura was crushing the threes! He had 35 points and was killing in OT. The game didn't really have any intenisty till about the 4th qtr. I was also a little disappointed in the Rockets because they had to go to OT to beat the Nets.

P.S. How tall is Rodney Buford because he was standing next to that reporter for TNT (the lady) and they were almost the same height?

I McGrady was decent since he played most of the game with an injury. He had similar numbers to Vince Carter despite being hobbled, being defended by a very good defensive player in Jason Kidd, having to defend Carter on the other end, and routinely getting doubled and tripled team.

Yao Ming was pretty terrible, though.
