Hill and the Orlando Magic are expected to have newly acquired guard Doug Christie available for the first time when they visit the defending champion Pistons, looking for their season-high fourth straight win. A free agent after the 1999-2000 season, Hill decided to leave for Orlando, forcing new team president and former teammate Joe Dumars to work out a sign-and-trade with the Magic.
Link: http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/preview?gid=2005011408 My Prediction: I think the Magic will win this game if we can contain Rasheed Wallace and Chauncey Billups. I think the score will 104-96 Magic win. This is Doug Christie's first game since being traded from the Kings so it will be interesting to see how he plays against Richard Hamilton.
so far Jameer has taken over scoring 11 out of the teams 24. Dwight has gotten 5 pts to get in 2nd. Our rookies are stepping up big time tonight. After 1 it's 24-22 Magic.
We obviously need them to score, there's no other who can do it right now. But Nelson shouldn't be needed to score, he should distribute the ball. And Dwight should concentrate on rebounding, he only has 1 so far. And what's up with Hedo 0/8? And where is DC? 49 - 41 down at half.

Steve Francis, Grant Hill and Hedo Turkoglu aren't having big nights which is making this a tough game. On a lighter note, Cato is rebounding well and our front court is playing well. Doug Christie isn't playing because he just reported with the team today so he doesn't know our plays or anything about our team. I don't think he will play tonight and if he does, it won't be for long. Hopefully we can keep this game close and won't let the Pistons pull away in the second half. This has been a very good game and I can't wait until the second half. Halftime Statistics Orlando Leading Scorer Jameer Nelson 13 Points Leading Rebounder Kelvin Cato 9 Rebounds Leading Assists Steve Francis 5 Assists Detroit Leading Scorer Richard Hamilton 14 Points Leading Rebounder Ben Wallace 6 Rebounds Leading Assists Lindsey Hunter/Tayshaun Prince 4 Assists We need to win this game and hopefully we can keep playing great and keep running our transition offense effectivly.
ey man steve francis is f'ing serious. he just through an alley-oop off the floor to himself on a fastbreak.

Quoting Quickness:

ey man steve francis is f'ing serious. he just through an alley-oop off the floor to himself on a fastbreak.
I know I was freaking out! He bounces it off he ground, catchs it, then two hands it for the slam. He held on to the rim for like 3 seconds after and I am suprised they didn't call a technical foul. Larry Brown and all of the Detroit fans were freaking out and booing. That was absoulutly brilliant and I just recorded it.
Francis has some cajones to try something like that in an NBA game. If he messed up, the crowd would have been laughing, and his coach would have been pissed. Maybe the Cuttino trade has messed up his brain or something. And isn't that move illegal? It has to be. I think the refs were so surprised to see him actually attempt it, they forgot to blow the whistle. Seeing Larry Brown's reaction afterwards was funny as hell, though.
Personally I see nothing wrong with jameer scoring. We now actually have lots of options now with cat gone in line up terms with the backcourt 1 to 3. Jameeer / Stevie / Hedo / Hill and now DC provide us plenty of depth on the rotation. Jameer and stevie combined for 48pts - which is damn good, just hedo had a bad night and that 2nd quater lost us it. I am currently way to sore from the gym to think and I have a basketball trial in 2hrs so I am just wondering how the hell i am gonna shoot atm
That move by Francis was the mosy obvious travel I have ever seen. He took at least 8 steps in doing that move, yet the refs didn't even pick It up. No wonder Larry and Sheed were going crazy. Was a nice play though.

Look at how Minnesota does with two scoring PG (Sam and Hudson), also what they do with plenty of depth - nothing good, hope we don't become like them. I love PG who can distribute the ball and I thought Nelson is such a PG, hope I'm not wrong.

Jameer can knock down the three, run the break, and apparently he has some good defense because the magic coach left jameer on Billups as the time was winding down in the game. But yes i have heard that the dunk francis attempted was traveling, but it was still awesome none the less. Also i dont think tracy mcgardy would have ever attempted that type of dunk. I mean during that game you coudl tell that francis was trying to do all he could to get his team into the game and riled up. Francis to me seemed like a hot head in that game he kept talking trash to lindsey on the bench and taking shots with rip in his face. good game none theless very entertaining. i hope Jameer gets alot more playing time now even though christie will become active today.
In the 1st quarter stevio was that passing pg but nothing was happening with hedo to get the points so he had to step up. I dont care we lost lets just bring them in to TD waterhouse and wipe em up. Stevio got over the cat trade by the looks of his game as rip hamilton tryed to distract him in a free throw when asking him something about it( i read some lips). Nelson is now a backup pg and francis is now a sg when hes in nelson has a good shot why not let him use it as him and stevio w/ hill be a big scoring threat. The ally-oop to himself(Stevio) was pretty sweet maybe the refs just where in awe at it? DC when he plays i think will show that he has a nice team to work with i saw he got our bench players a little spark even on the banch either talking to em or routing for them when on the bench but please find a new thing the hand was for sacremento and your in orlando now we will bite your hand off for raising it. j/k(maybe?)
That was a disapointing loss because it was so close until the end. We played pretty well and it is good to see Jameer Nelson can score if needed. Kelvin Cato had a good rebounding game and I was impressed by our inside defense. I think that the reason we lost was our bad passing. It seemed like we had so many passes intercepted on fast break situations. If we had just slowed it down and called a play instead of rushing down court we could have converted on more fast break oppurtunities. That Francis dunk was cool to watch and it pumped our team up but that just goes to show how bad the NBA is about calling fouls these days. There could have been 3 fouls called just on that one play but the officials called nothing. He traveled, self passed and hung the rim for about 3 seconds. The NBA is so much different then it used to be and it is kind of insulting to the game. Hopefully, the Magic can bounce back and get a win tonight against the Indiana Pacers.
