WOW that sucks. after such a cinderella season it will be tuff for them to hold it together. but i think that they will still play well enough to stay in the playoff hunt. good luck wizards!
I really don't think it is a Cinderella season. A lot of people said that we were a team to look out for, we just are unnoticed. Arenas and Jamison will be able to lead us, but Juan Dixon is going to need to step up huge for us.
This is terrible, this puts a lot more responsibility into Arenas hands in terms of carrying the team. Arenas is going to have to become the triple double machine he was last season again because he's now the only playmaker in the backcourt. I'm speculating that Jarvis Hayes will be starting, which will hurt the already weak defense a lot. It defiantely hurts a lot, we were on pace to possibly even win 50 games in the season, and Hughes who's very important on many aspects to the team goes down. Those 2.9 steals, very good man to man defense, clutch performances, and 5.4 assists or so will be missed. We have scorers that can fill the scoring void, but the other things are more important.
It's going to be hard without him for the Wizards. It seemed as if he was the key to their defense, witch eventually lead to their explosive offense. I'm sure Arenas and Jamison can step it up a notch without him though. The question is will that be enough?
With the upcoming schedule, I think the Wiz are going to be a little less than .500 without him unless Juan steps up. I have been focusing myself on Juan and noone else on the court and he plays good D and gets some steals...soo maybe if he steps up and scores 12 ppg adn gets 2-3 steals while Larry is out we may still be 8 or more games above .500. I think the real ? is whether it will be 4 or 5 or 6 weeks:
