Cowboys Officially Sign Veteran CB Aaron Glenn The Cowboys went through the entire draft without taking a cornerback, but couldn't resist on grabbing 11-year veteran Aaron Glenn, who signed to a two-year deal Wednesday at Valley Ranch. Glenn, who was released by the Texans on Tuesday, played three years in Houston after eight years with the Jets, including three of that under Bill Parcells. Glenn, a three-time Pro Bowler who turns 33 in September, has 35 career interceptions, but will likely come to the Cowboys as the third cornerback behind projected starters Terence Newman and Anthony Henry. Terms not yet disclosed, but is rumored to be about $2.5 per year. I think this leadership will greatly help as a 3rd CB, a nickel player, and a backup in case someone goes down with injury. From the video that I have seen, he still has some wheels and had 5 picks last year. Another two thumbs up for this move. Now, if Pete Hunter would just wise up and compete for the starting FS job instead of #4 CB....
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (DaPackersGb)</div><div class='quotemain'>Ok what position is he gonns said..i rember someone said he was gonna be a Saftey!?!?!</div> Up in the air, but I don't know that he will necessarily be safety at this time. I read somewhere that nickle coverage was up to like 40% of the plays, so there is plenty of room for 3 good corners.
I really like the idea of putting a good, solid veteran safety in the secondary, though. They act as the QB for the secondary...much better to have someone who knows what they are doing rather than an inexperienced rookie.
