<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">"It is no secret the Cavaliers plan to use some of their $20 million-plus in salary-cap room to sign a shooting guard next summer. All season there's been speculation that Milwaukee Bucks star Michael Redd, who can opt out of his contract at season's end, is at the top of their wish list. But he's not the only big fish out there. And he's not the only one who might have interest in coming to Cleveland." Akron Beacon-Journal </div>

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">"Seattle SuperSonics star shooting guard and free agent-to-be Ray Allen will likely set the market this summer. With talks about an extension in Seattle stalling, he's keeping his options open. Allen, who is making $14.6 million this season in the final year of a maximum contract, said before Sunday's game with the Cavaliers that he'd be open to coming to Cleveland." So Cleveland is plannin gettin LeBron some help. We could use Redd or Allen's long range game. Let's hope they can pull dis one off.

    2006 future lineup: J-Mac, Redd/Allen, LeBron, Gooden, Z

Either one of those two could help out this team big time. I think that I would rather have Redd on my team because he is younger and he seems like he would be the better fit. Also, I really dont see Ray leaving Seattle.

There are going to be free agents who want to play in Cleveland, to get on that wagon. Those guys know that LeBron is the next big thing and the Cavs have big thing for them in the near future.

But you have to keep in mind the Cavs have some valuable free agents on their squad themselves. Don't forget about the two-team captains, Ilgalskus and Jeff McInnis are both free agents at the end of this season.

If you had too, make the decision of keeping JMac and Z or getting either Redd or Ray Allen what would you do?

I'm just going to ignore these rumors, because I've heard enough about both coming to Cleveland, so let's just wait and see what happens at the end of this season...

I would take the younger of the two, Redd, because he is only 25 he will have a longer better career with the Cavs and he will improve and gain chemistry with LeBron for a long period of time.

You Keep Z.. Why you probaly ask? Well lets put it this way Z is more valuable to the Cavs then J-Mac.. We can't replace Z.. Well we can but no one nearly as effective. But on the other hand we have J-Mac.. I really like him but we can afford to lose him. Becaues we have Snow as a backup.. Which Snow can play just fine.. McInnis has better offensive but Snow has better defense so it evens out.

Very true. The signing priorities should be Z, then Redd or Allen, then J-Mac, juding on if there is enough money to go around. Z is a 7'3" center with a legit back to the basket game, a soft shooters touch and presence around the basket. Not many of those around.

While there aren't many Allen or Redd calibur shooters, you have Pavlovic and Luke Jackson. They are both good shooters, though young.

And if you are able to sign Z and Redd/Allen, J-Mac becomes a luxury. You've added offense and depth into the backcourt and maintained your frontcourt. Keeping J-Mac gives you solid offensive options at the 1 - 5. Let him walk and you have Snow, who might not have the offense, but can hit the open shot, run an offense and has tremendous defense to shore up defensive deficiencies brought on by Redd/Allen.

And I'd pick Redd for the same reasons most of you guys picked him over Allen; he's younger. But not only that, he is a hometown guy with a good guy image, has played second fiddle to an all-star before and is left-handed (I think).

I'd probably take Redd over Allen, because he's younger and an Ohio boy. I would try to keep Z and, as much as I like J-Mac, he could easily be left to go if it means a decent shooter comes to Cleveland. Snow can start, but you could never really replace Z.
A starting five of Snow, Redd, James, Gooden and Z will still be better then most opponents.
