I was Wrong. I was wrong about Ben Gordon. I wasn't thrilled with the pick because he was yet another PG taken; 3 in the past 3 years. I didn't think his offense would offset the defensive defficiencies. I was wrong about Curry. Although his rebounding numbers don't jump out at you, he has done better. His defense has improved as well. I was wrong about wanting to get rid of both Chandler and Curry. It looks as if Reinsdorf is willing to pay them to keep the core together. I was wrong about John Paxson. After starting 0-9 I was ready to lynch him. He didn't assemble the correct pieces and it looked as though we were heading for another losing season. I was wrong about Skiles. Although I still somewhat question his ability, I cannot argue with his recent success. I was wrong. And you know what..........its never felt so damn good to be wrong.
Scott Skiles has a great mind for coaching, he just needed a young team under his wing and now he has it. "It's all about passing and defense," Skiles said in an interview after their win against Milwaukee last month, and it's true, look at teams like Detroit who have defeated a seamingly unstoppable Lakers team last year. Pax is a great GM, just like his brother over in Cleveland, both carry the heart and soul of basketball and know who will play well with who it seems. Out of many of the fans in the NBA this year who doubted my Bulls I still said they would make a comeback this year, even when they were down that 0-9 stretch from hell, and it never felt so good to say that I was right, ha! I know that Chicagoans do not abandon their teams, and never will, but for those away from here, glad to see some people are coming to realize that this young team isn't an easy win anymore, but now more of a challenge to even get by.
