Sorry no link, I got this from ESPN Insider. After his public dissatisfaction over his buddy, Cutino Mobley, being traded to the Kings and being moved to shooting guard, Steve Francis is once again on the trading block. The Magic's GM was upset with his comments and is fielding offers for trading Francis. One of the offers the Magic have received for him was from the Nuggets. Andre Miller, Skeeta, and Lenard for Francis. I don't see the Magic trading Francis for that group of players, but I wouldn't be surprised if he's traded before the deadline. The Magic are putting together a nice season and should make the playoffs. Acquiring Doug Christie and the emergence of Jameer Nelson opens the door for the Magic to trade Francis. It will be interesting to see who the Magic eventually end up with for Tracy McGrady when all is said and done.
Warriors will do this with a first round pick in '06 Golden State trades: SF Mike Dunleavy (11.9 ppg, 5.3 rpg, 2.6 apg in 31.9 minutes) PG Derek Fisher (11.1 ppg, 2.1 rpg, 3.8 apg in 26.3 minutes) PF Clifford Robinson (9.2 ppg, 2.9 rpg, 1.8 apg in 27.1 minutes) Golden State receives: PG Steve Francis (21.4 ppg, 6.2 rpg, 6.9 apg in 37.5 minutes) Change in team outlook: -10.8 ppg, -4.1 rpg, and -1.3 apg. Orlando trades: PG Steve Francis (21.4 ppg, 6.2 rpg, 6.9 apg in 37.5 minutes) Orlando receives: SF Mike Dunleavy (11.9 ppg, 5.3 rpg, 2.6 apg in 31.9 minutes) PG Derek Fisher (11.1 ppg, 2.1 rpg, 3.8 apg in 26.3 minutes) PF Clifford Robinson (9.2 ppg, 2.9 rpg, 1.8 apg in 27.1 minutes) Change in team outlook: +10.8 ppg, +4.1 rpg, and +1.3 apg. TRADE ACCEPTED Due to Golden State and Orlando being over the cap, the 15% trade rule is invoked. Golden State and Orlando had to be no more than 115% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement. Warriors new starting lineup: PG: Stevie Francis/ Speedy Claxton/ Luis Flores SG: Jason Richardson/ Calbert Cheany SF: Mickael Pietrus/ Calbert Cheany/ Zarko Carparkapa/ Najera PF: Troy Murphy/ Eddy Najera/ Zarko Carpakapa/ C: Adonal Foyle/ Andris Biedrins/ Dale Davis Drool... Why Golden State does it, RunTMC all over again. Also they get rid of Mike Dunleavy and Derek Fisher who both appear to be not trying and might do better with a different team. Also the Warriors would make a fight at the playoffs Orlando Starting Lineup: PG: Derek Fisher/ Jameer Nelson/ Mike Dunleavy SG: Doug Christie/ Mike Dunleavy/ DeShawn Stevenson SF: Grant Hill/ Hedo Turkoglu/ Stacey Augoman/ Brandon Hunter PF: Dwight Howard/ Hedo Turkoglu/ Cliff Robinson/Patt Garrity C: Kelvin Cato/ Cliff Robinson/ Tony Battie/ Mario Kasun Why Orlando Does It, Cliff can mentor Dwight Howard and will provide good minutes off the bench. Mike Dunleavy is a good back-up and maybe this team is just right for him. Derek Fisher might be able to mentor Jameer Nelson and guide the team as a vet.
I believe he will be out, the trade that involved Cat really pissed him off. I like that deal from Denver. Skita has added some weight and Andre Miller is argueably the most underrated passer in the league.
If he does get traded, I hope we can get something good for him. Early this week we were having a discussion in the Magic forum about trading Francis because Jameer Nelson looks good. If Jameer can step up and be a starter, then why not trade Francis? In Jameer's last couple of games, he is showing that he can pass well and score when needed. If we do trade Francis, I wouldn't want a PG in return because Jameer Nelson's future looks bright and i things didn't work out, we would still have Christie.

^look at www.realgm.com, there is a trade simulator. @crossover3, we still need a backup PG in return for Francis, and besides that I still doubt that Nelson is ready for the starting job. Besides a backup PG, I think we need to dumb a few of our unused players together with Francis, and as you said get something good back, but I'm not so sure at which positions we need another quality player.

This is realy surprising news concerning steve fancis being traded. I understand why francis is mad because the magic traded his backcourt buddy in mobley since college. I think the magic will be ok with jameer playing point for them; i think this kid is way too good to be riding the pine. Ive been looking forward to the magic letting jameer shine, because he really tore it up during the preason games. wow, this is really a shock; i never expected francis to be traded again, i actually thought he fit the magic.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting DerfZ:</div><div class="quote_post">how bout the raptors trade Rose Marshall, 2 1st rounders for Francis? he can play SG</div> I'd keep our two first rounders over Franis.
I would take the Ray Allen for Declerq and Francis trade! That would give us: PG- Jameer Nelson/ Doug Christie SG- Ray Allen/ Deshawn Stevenson SF- Grant Hill/ Hedo Turkoglu PF- Dwight Howard/ Pat Garrity C- Kelvin Cato/ Tony Battie That would be awesome! I would do it in a heart beat if I were the Magic. I also heard that KG is being shopped around by the T-Wolves... If the Magic could get him, he could mentor Dwight Howard and KG could play Center. That would be a dream come true for the Magic. After so many years of stupid trades, if we could get KG it would all be better.

But i just dont think francis would fit the seatlle team at all, because he likes to handle the ball alot and the sonics are about team passing.
Nah, I think Steve Francis will suck it up. He's a professional after all, and if he's going to stop playing with heart after Mobley is traded, then it is pretty immature and childish then. So far, he has helped Orlando get such a better record than they had last year, although it isn't that hard, and is really giving them some energy and fire when he plays. They'll probably be keeping him since after one or two weeks, he should be fine- all he needs to do is toughen up and get over the trade.
i say not trade francis im a magic fan yes but trading francis is just a NO NO we lost our team for him he will dry his eyes soon co he has like 6 years on his contract so he will be a magic for a while yet ps i bought his jersey so if he goes im going to call magic up and want a refund
Don't worry guys, you are not getting Garnett. The Chicago columnist that wrote that has no clue what he was talking about. About the Allen for Francis trade, I don't think the Sonics would want it. They really love what they have in Ridnour, and unless Francis plays shooting guard it probably won't happen.
Magic will not trade Francis, he is having his best ever season in my opinion and is playing the style of basketball that suits his game and the Magic. Why trade him when things are going so well? Yes Francis is dissapointed that Mobley was traded but he will learn to love Doug Christie's effort and defense.
